They do. Never found myself having much interest in watching or owning them. I may see if I can find them available to and see if my mind gets changed.

Hello, all. I had to join this forum just to thank you all for the posts about the Jeannie blu-ray set. I was on the fence about buying it, so I was lurking and reading the comments. When I saw the post about the sale at JB Hi-Fi, I decided to take the plunge.

I am also thankful for the posts about the GST. I would never have known about that. I sent an email and got a quick response and a refund of 12.78 US. A nice bonus!

I got the email 2 days ago that my order is on the way, so the wait begins. Thanks again for all the helpful posts!

Looks like I missed this sale. Getting ready to travel then travelling I quit checking this thread. Damn, this looked like a good sale.

They happen practically monthly. There'll be another one for Easter.

I just watched the 1st disc of Season 3 and came across 1 major color glitch for the episode titled: Jeannie or the Tiger?

Green streak down the middle of the screen from 0:16:24 - 0:16:31

Anyone else have this glitch on this episode?

Okay just checked and there is indeed a green line.... but it looks like print damage not a glitch.. since it looks like a transition shot.

When I saw it I had forgotten it was also on the Sony DVD's.

just started to watch the series. wow! the PQ is as good on this set as the PQ was bad on the MillCreek. Absolutely stunning.

That said, not sure if I made the right decision to get the LE instead of waiting for the inevitable SE. The book is nice, but I doubt I will ever reference it. If the SE gets rid of the color episodes and reduces the size by 50%, then I might prefer that. Yes, the hard box is fantastic... anyway, I have it now and loving what I see so far....truly amazing PQ/AQ.

update: I am floored at how well this series holds up. Not nostalgia, but just a great show that is truly funny! Barbara Eden is incredible and her chemistry with Hagman is precious. There are some shows that we see as children/youth, and then rewatch as adults and it just isn't the same. This show is different - timeless, imho. I am sure that this stellar PQ is also helping. With the abysmal Mill Creek version, I was so annoyed/angry/distracted by the 10th generation VHS PQ quality, that I couldn't appreciate the episode. Here, it is a joy.

One negative: the commentary with the cast is one of the worst commentaries I have ever heard. 90% dead space with a few "ooh, you look great there, Tony!" and a couple of giggles. No discussion of how they got cast, any memories of working on the show, nada. I have only listened to the first cast commentary track, and not sure I want to listen to any more...

Wow, I have to say I'm really pleased with JB HiFi! Although it took a few days for my IDoJ set to get shipped after I ordered it, once it went out, it reached me in Minnesota in less than a week. It shipped in a box and, while it wasn't wrapped in bubble wrap or anything, the set looks great.

Yes! Isn't that wild?! I got the email notification on 3/19 (which matched the date on the package label) and it arrived today, 3/26. The other titles from the same order that were sent separately took 12 days to arrive (which still isn't bad from Australia!).

Got my order today from JB , Crushed in 1 corner , front cover dented as well . They said bring it back to the store ...LMAO . I had to laugh after being kinda pissed they could not wrap such an expensive set properly and want me to take a roundtrip flight from Chicago . Not sure if a employee dropped it , or whoever is in there factory or it was damaged in transit , packing box looks ok , but just some bubble wrap thorn on top . Not wrapped like Via vision does . later was offered a partial refund which I accepted and will have to live wit the dent . Hopefully book inside is not messed up too . I don't hear anything broken yet . For future reference not ordering anything this expensive from JB .

nobody packs like ViaVision, Indicator, or Themovieroom (in the US). Even the expensive Hammer 4k LEs I bought directly from them had no bubble wrap and while the sets were inside a box, there was nothing surrounding the box for protection.

That being said, I have been fortunate enough to never have anything damaged from JB from all my purchases. understand that it is somewhat of a crap shoot when any company doesn't go the extra mile for protection. With the increased cost of shipping (domestic and internationally), perhaps this is the best we can expect from most companies.

Or am I misunderstanding you and you are saying that the set INSIDE the non-damaged box was damaged? That is something different..

The packing box shows no signs of damage , Too me this seems like something that happened before packaging . Like who ever packed it dropped it . A $18USD refund really unacceptable is what they gave me .

got a update and they reply was there not responsible and the packed it correctly is there claim . will not provide any type of return . Told me to send it tot a friend in aussie and he can return it ... .

And Via Vision (I wrote to them as well given the situation ) can not provide a box if I paid them , I was expecting this as its limited to 1500 , So its not Via Visions fault at all for not having a extra box to send me , Shout factory has been great for this one something would come crushed from amazon .

Would you accept a $18USD credit for that damage ? Just wondering if I pursue this any further with JB . Its a horrible major corner dent and front minor dent for such a nice ....beautiful set . Its going to drive me nuts .

Basically they covered the shipping costs . Its not good enough .

Update * , their system can not provide me with a return label and they claim it was packed correctly and there not responsible . Also to have it sent to a friend in Australia who can return it for me , OK .

I am truly shock and saddened at your experience. My dealings with JB has always been stellar with the friendliest and most accommodating support personnel who have gone overboard in making me happy.

Not sure what to say. Totally understand your frustration and your feelings about them. Perhaps calling them directly and asking to speak to the manager.

Yes. It's impossible NOT to notice it! However, I checked out the Sony DVD and it's on there, too, so it's baked into the original.

I was disappointed in the book. It's just a synopsis of each episode - which is fine, but there's no background information, not even the original airdate.

Exactly. Also, a set like this, especially at this price point, should have at least one essay on the show and the cultural phenomenon known as Barbara Eden. Very little retrospective in this entire set. A missed opportunity, imho.

One more comment: the US incredible crappy-insulting Mill Creek version was signed personally by Ms. Eden and available on her website for purchase. it is a shame that Imprint couldn't get her to sign THIS set instead!
