I love and own the first one. It's just like they said, "hey, last time we had him have sex in public- what can we do THIS time?!?" for the whole movie.

... just didn't work for me. I really wanted it to. Plus the scene I was discussing is just... ugh. Anyway, off topic and I'll let it go but I almost wish I had playback issues with this one!

I haven't tried my BD yet, but I just tried to redeem my digital copy in Itunes and it WILL NOT WORK. Anyone else tried yet? I follow onscreen instructions, click redeem code, and it says accessing Itunes store then nothing happens. It never downloads or transfers or whatever.

What ever happened to putting a movie in and just being able to phuckin' watch it!?!?!?!?!?!? This sucks. Sony sucks.

How do I get this to play on a Panasonic DMP BD 55?

All I see in a tiny red square in the center of the screen. I can tell its trailers, and then the main phuckin' menu.. This is horrible.

What does that mean?

It is connected to the internet!

I dont know what you mean by a SD MEMORY CARD (I'm not playing it on a camera or a PC. This is a new Panasonic BD55

I have never seen this before. I have the Skynet T2 movie and when it asked to connect I selected cancelled and it would still load. This was different.
How do we "allow" it??

I tried it with BD LIVE "on" and "off" = same thing; a crappy tiny square in the center of the TV. I'm bringing the movie back

Put a "phuckin'" 1GB (at least) SD memory card in the SD memory card slot of your BD55.

Do you know what a SD memory card is?

Do you see the corresponding slot for it on your Panasonic player?

Well stick the memory card in the slot, and the problem should be solved.

If you don't have a memory card, you need to buy one.

They sell for $5 or less:

I see the slot: right-front-bottom when I open the latch..

Thank you.. But, forget it. I'm not buying a card to play a movie. I BOUGHT A BLURAY PLAYER TO BUY THE MOVIE!!!!! The people at Lionsgate oughta get their ass kicked.

Returning it now. But thank you for the quick reply

It will likely get fixed by Panasonic upgrading the FW. You essentially have a profile 2.0 player without the memory right now, which is where the error is coming from. The disc thinks you have the required memory, but you don't. This problem shouldn't have happened, and is likely the fault of Lionsgate. Bummer. I understand your frustration.

But if you want to enjoy all the content on bluray, you should install at least a 1GB SD card in that slot, to access BD Live content which requires 1GB of internal memory storage.

So feel free to take Crank back, but I would still pick up a 1GB SD card for future titles and content.

wow, i understand your anger. are you ever planning to take advantage of BD-live with your profile 2.0 machine? if the answer is yes, then you should buy the 1gb card. what they (lions gate) should have done is at the very begining, give you the "yes or no" option for bd-live download. by the same token, your machine is really not a true profile 2.0 machine because it needed to have the 1gb built into it; it's more profile 2.0 ready. i still understand your feelings, i think the movies gonna be great especially if you liked the first one. a 1gb card will cost about 10 bones or less, trust me i am sure this will not be the first movie this happens on as more and more studios begin the heavy push of bd live content. in a sick way, this movie and others like it will either push blu player makers to include full bd live profile 2.0 machines (1gb included) or it will cause it to fail because of the feelings of folks like you (not that it's a bad thing just getting in on your all caps above!)

what do you think people, should everyone be forced into profile 2.0 bd live (if they offer really cool (a lot cooler than it is now) stuff on it) or should we stay where we are at the pace we are headed?

Makes sense.

Before I returned it, I tried it in my other player. A Sony BDP S500; and it worked.

Why does it work in the Sony S500 but not the newer Panasonic BD 55?

It works in the older player because it isn't 2.0 ready so it automatically ignores the BD-Live function and skips to the disc. the Panny is 2.0 ready (but not complete until you have the SD card installed for extra memory per specs of 2.0) so the disc thinks you are 2.0 capable and tries to load the BD-Live junk. It gets stuck because it's trying to access the local memory but there is none until you install it. It's actually kinda a mix of blame. Lionsgate for not creating a "skip bd-live sh!t" feature and Panny for not making it 2.0 out of the box

Ahhh, so its Panasonic's fault and Lionsgate's fault.

I doubt Panasonic can fix this issue as they can't fix the simular issue with Starship Troopers on the BD35.
The resolution to play that movie is to install a 1G SD in the memory slot.
They only cost like $10 so I just keep one in there now even though I don't have anything connected to the Ethernet port "just incase" it's needed like this title.

This may become a new reoccurring issue on future releases on older/current 2.0 players that require an SD card to utilized BD Live.

It's either whine, protest and not watch a title and wait for a resolution or just get an SD card and call it a day.

So if I get the SD Card, it just goes right into the slot, out of the box? Do I have to format it or anything?
