I thought this would be a good source for those of us who were not lucky enough to get a PS3 preorder (JTK, you dog
![]() How many members here are planning on buying the PS3 instead of a standalone BD player? Myself, I want the PS3 and will wait for the 2nd generation Bd players that will most likely be announced at CES in January. I talked with managers at Best Buy and Target and they said they have no set plans (yet). Does anybody know differently? I'm also guessing these stores will get more of an allocation than EB/GS but will also attract a much larger crowd. Thoughts? Predictions? |

I too have been checking with other stores. The BB here states a first come first served on launch day. They are not planning to take preorders.
![]() Eb Game/Gamestop are still planning to take online preorders in the next week or so. From my intell these units will not be impacted by the store allocated units. I am also planning to use my PS3 as my Blu player until the 2nd or 3rd gen units come out. Looking to get new 50" Sony SXRD for the display, they just have great video. I can not get a DLP b/c I can see the rainbow effect when I blink. |

I would expect Best Buy, Toys R Us, and other places like that to get larger allotments of PS3's...but that's not saying much when GS/EB's were getting 8-12 on average.
So what could that be? 20? 30? 50, if you're lucky? The point being: If you think you're going to get a PS3 on launch day from any place like that, you need to keep very close tabs on any kind of reserve setup and/or be prepared to camp out. |

Possibly the one saving grace for me in the UK; by March 2007 production should be up and running in decent numbers. please!

We have roughly 4 weeks to go until launch day, not counting the week of the launch day. Sony should be working hard to meet the high demand.

Still waiting. You can see in the PS3 Japan thread I made that Amazon Japan had theirs go up and 20 minutes later all the preorder allotments were gone.
So if you're going to go with them, you need to stay on top of them like glue and get ready to act very fast. |

I went to amazon.com and they are not taking preorders yet on the ps3, although I did preorder one ps3 game which was full auto 2. I prefer to have an american ps3. With 4 weeks left to go, not counting the week of november 17th, other online retail stores should be doing preorders this week and in the coming weeks.

They only have preorders on the games. But who knows, they might do orders on the ps3 itself by the nov 17th. |

I made a webpage will all the pre-order sites for PS3 that I could think of. They are all in iframes so you can view all these sites on one page. I check this several times daily. If you can think of any others I should add please let me know and I'll add it. And check out this funny video, lol. PSM’s Guide to getting you PS3 home safely. dont know if its been said or even supposed to be said but walmart is going to do a first come first serve to a point... basically at 10pm the first (10-however many systems they get in) people in line get a ps3 wristband either 20gb or 60gb and at 12:01am on nov 17th you have to be there at that time to get it. there is no free movie like the xbox is doing but a 50% off for x-men 3.

not sure on division 1 or regular walmarts how they will do that.. but I do believe they start a 24/7 schedule during the holidays, you would have to ask them about it. sorry.
