For someone who is claiming to speak on behalf of us customers and also claiming to try and communicate to the Indian video industry the need for good quality Blu-ray releases, the least you can do is atleast get your own website in order. The website is full of glaring errors. It is quite obvious that you people either have no idea of the different audio formats or simply don't care. Because almost every single Blu-ray title listed on your site has Dolby TrueHD as the audio format even in cases where you have no information and even worse is that in cases where this is totally incorrect. For eg. the Bodhega, 'Region B' BD of 'Jodhaa Akbar' has only one audio track, i.e. 'DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1', where as your site claims it has a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and a DD 5.1 track. Another example is 'New York', which we all know now, has only lossy DTS & DD tracks, but you still have the following:
Audio Format: D T S Hd Master Audio, Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel listed for 'New York'. The most laughable is the listing for Silsila. Where it lists the following: Audio: D T S Hd Master Audio, Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel Come on the very best we can hope for is DTS HD Master Audio 1.0, considering that the movie is originally recorded in only MONO 1.0 track sound. Most probably this will be a crappy pseudo DD 5.0 (with same mono sound in all channels). These business practices are not only misleading but I am sure also illegal. To incorrectly represent a product just so you can fool people into thinking that they are buying a BD with features that don't actually exist is dishonest at best. I hope you don't need me to actually list out all the other numerous errors on your site. By the way I have in the past also tried to educate you about the misinformation and errors on your website but it seems you don't really care. Then again, is it just stupid of us to expect anything different from anyone commercially linked to the brainless 'chor' Indian video industry or can we hope for better from you guys atleast? PS: The format is called Blu-ray and it is a Blu-ray Disc. There is no 'DVD' before or after the Blu-ray. DVD is a totally different product. So please stop referring to BDs as Blu-ray DVDs and listing DVD as the media for these Blu-ray discs. The correct term is 'Media: BD'. Last edited by sanjay0864; 09-25-2009 at 09:14 PM. |

You might want to fix the information listed for the Bodega, 'Region B' release of 'Jodhaa Akbar' on Blu-ray.com
The correct audio information is: Hindi DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1 Also, this BD was not released on Sep 22, 2009 as stated by you. It was most definately released sometime in the very begining of December 2008. |

How are you my friend? Hoping you're enjoying yourself and life! I know nothing about Bollywood movies and I'm not a fan of musicals, which I think a lot of the Indian movies are based on. I know it's weird, because I love Concert BD's, but "muscials" aren't a format I enjoy. Just for the record, I was commenting on Sanjay's OP about his critizism of bollywood blu-ray in an open forum. I think he should express it privately. John |

I agree it would better if Sanjay discussed this directly with them. There is no reason to make a new post, and shame there website.

First of all, this is not a issue of a personal nature, and is directly related to a commercial business that is targetted at everyone in general. Therefore I see absolutely no reason why this should not be discussed in an open forum.
Secondly and more importantly I have made numerous, private & public, attempts over the last one year to educate these people and to try and persuade them to correct the erroneous and misleading information on their website. But obviously they don't care and probably maybe even do it on purpose or why else would they not correct the information. Thirdly, if they are going to promote themselves on this forum and website as the guardians of the Indian Blu-ray disk market with an obvious ultimate object to promote their commercial website, then they ought to atleast follow good & legal procedures of business. Correct product information is just the begining of decent business practices. Fourthly PS: I absolutely fail to understand how some of you seem to not understand the simple concept of honesty in business. 'bollywooddvd.com / bollywoodbluray.com' have been following unethical business policies and they continue to do so. It is not I, who shames them. Rather, they have brought this shame on themselves and unfortunately still continue to do so. |

Someone has read this thread and updated the data listed on this site for the 'Bodega' Region B BD of 'Jodhaa Akbar' and has changed the audio format listing from 'Dolby TrueHD' to 'DTS HD Master Audio 6.1'. But the specifications are still not completely correct. There is only 'ONE' Hindi audio track on the disc and the other track is in French. The correct Audio listing should be as below:
Audio Hindi: DTS HD Master Audio 6.1 French: DTS-ES Also, the BD release date should be December 04, 2008 and not Sep 22, 2009. |

I am in agreement with Sanjay here. I admit that the folks at Bollywood blu-ray are very authentic but the site needs to be improved when they are actively collecting feedback. I am not sure if they are short staffed but would appreciate if they be accurate when it comes to listing specs for Blu-ray.

I believe it to be 'Constructive criticism'
His post(Sanjay) based on what I read , seems to provide example of issues he sees and hopes they take a preemptive approach to fix it. An email probably would be ignored and since they are presenting themselves as the 'go to ' source for region C titles I think they should make an effort to be sure their information is accurate. ![]() |

NOTE:
1. While constructive criticism is most welcome, bashing, personal or not, isn't. I see a lot of bashing in this thread. 2. Anyone with previous history on other forums looking to transfer old feuds on Blu-ray.com and pursue old agendas should think twice before posting here again. 3. Sites and forums are run by people, and people make mistakes. Anyone who has concerns about incorrect technical specs/data is encouraged to post in the proper subforums, or contact the proper party, to have them addressed. For Blu-ray.com this would be the feedback forum. For the Indian vendor addressed in this thread, this would be info@. 4. I strongly encourage everyone to follow the rules and regulations the forum has. 5. I am requesting that a few of the supermoderators keep a close eye on how debates are run in the Region C section. I sincerely hope that in the future there will be no more threads such as this one. Pro-B Last edited by pro-bassoonist; 09-29-2009 at 03:16 AM. |
