Default BOLLYWOOD on Blu-ray?

Anybody have any info concerning when Bollywood may decide to release on blu-ray if at all.

Theres some stellar titles such as Dhoom 2 and Don which i would own on blu-ray if they came out but not much else unless they are very western in style like those two.

I know quite a lot of people out there though will want to know if any Bollywood movies are going HD anytime soon.

Bend It Like Beckham is nowhere NEAR a Bollywood movie.

Bollywood on BD is possible so long as the film producers or studios want to. But right now it's a bit early. Give it three years.

Being originally from India - I know that inertia is at work.. and will be at work until one of the producers/directors wake up to blu. Then, there will be a flood...

I have noted at least 2 users from India that have posted here... so Blu-Ray may be making the first forays in India...

Bollywood movies I'd like to see:
Sholay (People that like Dhoom 2 and Don would love this...)
Jalwa (a Bollywood adaptation of Beverly Hills Cop)

I'm sure I'll be able to think of some more spectacular titles...
Bend it like Beckham is not a typical Bollywood movie. That's perhaps one reason I like it so much.

Rup.

Not the usual "Bollywood" either, but I can't wait to see Water and Lagaan in 1080p. The 35mm print of Water is STUNNING but the DVD is very soft and lacking in detail and color vibrancy in comparison. Lagaan would be oh-so-nice in 1080p... as would the rest of my Bollywood collection (most titles I don't dare try to spell from memory )

How could I forget Lagaan? Good call, DaViD!
All of Deepa Mehta's movies: Water, Earth, Fire, and Hollywood Bollywood.
Monsoon Wedding.

Monsoon Wedding. What a great movie... one that I only saw for the first time a few months ago. Cried at the end... of course ;-)

Vivah is another one that had us all reaching for the tissues.

Old 70s-80s Bollywood has a lot of singing and dancing, lots of long expositional monologue, and fights that start from one location and end up a hill away.

90s Bollywood has a lot of singing and dancing, lots of long expositional monologue, and fights that start from one location and end up a hill away - all shot in foreign countries such as China, Singapore, Australia, Britain, Malaysia.

I do wonder how those horror Bollywood works though.

Not many people talk about the film but I really like ABCD: ANY BODY CAN DANCE and I've yet to see if it makes it to Blu.
