Huh. I thought a spoof was making fun of a movie/genre. No? It was certainly intended to be a comedy.

It was a comedy without a doubt but I don't remember any elements straight spoofing the zombie genre.

Yeah. I actually told somebody else earlier in the thread that they should have put tags on it, but then they made me realize that it's not that big of a deal to know who it is.

It doesn't wreck anything persay but I think it elevates the initial laughs if you weren't expecting it. I know I'm glad I had no clue he was going to be in it.

I watched it last night and enjoyed it. I am not a big W.H. fan, but I am still buying this.

Well, it's not really supposed to be, but you know how word about things like this gets around, so it was pretty inevitable.

why why why do ppl love shaun of the dead so much??
[Show spoiler]it plays out nicely until they reach the bar. then the movie goes from hilarious to boring snooze-fest and an ackward transition to almost...SERIOUS? come on!! so slow and boring compared to zombieland.

saw this movie last night and absolutely loved it! woody harrelson stole the show and the rest of the cast is well done.

"Thank God for rednecks" got a great laugh out of everyone in the theater. As sick as it sounds
[Show spoiler]Bill Murray getting shot probably got the most laughs in our theater, WOW that part was HYSTERICAL!

great film from the opening frame, all the way til the end of the credits. i'm going to see this again on the big screen.

What happened? I didn't stay and I always stay lol, of course this would happen!! Beyond hysterical movie and even funnier than I expected. Woody was great and man oh man Stone is smoking. The cameo was the funniest thing of the year and one of the best, if not the best cameo of all time. But he is also my favorite comedian ever, so maybe I am biased.

+1 I stayed almost until the end of the credits and everyone was gone except like 2 people so I left halfway through the music credits.

It was okay, definitely better than Shaun of the Dead but some parts kinda dragged on.

I wish there was more of a story and less romance but I still enjoyed it. A little on the "gorish" side but that is expected.

For those who haven't seen it, I would avoid a blind buy when it is released on Blu. If you enjoy zombie movies than this will become one of your favourites.

EDIT: One thing I did love was the editing and how much life the soundtrack gave the movie.

Entertaining overall but I was expecting more. The BM cameo was even a letdown. Funny, but maybe my expectations were too high and I already knew about it going in.

My biggest problem was
[Show spoiler]that for the first 2 thirds of the movie everyone is doing what it takes to survive, following rules, being extra careful and basically acting smart (even though they were having some wreckless fun as well). The sisters even kept screwing them over based on "I'll do anything to keep my sister and I alive". Then in the final act they decide to go the theme park, AT NIGHT, drive right in, turn on all of the rides creating tons of light and noise (which we were shown many times alerts the zombies) and quickly get surrounded by zombies. The big sister should have said "I'll do anything to keep my sister and I alive until we get to Pacific Land, then I'm going to get us killed." It was just stupid and the film lost a lot of credibility that it built up from the first 2/3's.

I give it a B-.

I agree with you there. It really seemed way out of place considering what she said earlier in the film.

Saw it yesterday. It was FANTASTIC! Not much I can add that hasn't been said already, but it was just an all-around fast paced funny movie.

I will repeat one thing though*:
[Show spoiler] Bill F#$&ing Murray! I had no idea he was in the movie (I like to go in movies "fresh" so I wasn't looking for info) but when he showed up the movie really kicked into another level I think. When they shot him the entire theater erupted into hysterical laughter, including me. It was great.

*Spoilered even though the cat is out of the bag

Not to take the film too seriously but the reasoning for it was alluded to earlier when Wichita talked about how Little Rock had never gotten to do kids stuff in a long time and such so they were just letting themselves go and trying not to think of killing or zombies for a while. Plus they left when they did because of Wichita's trust issues so they wouldn't be caught leaving. It was a stupid decision but made sense to me given the character's story.
