Default Remember, Remember the 5th of November

Quote:
...The gunpowder, treason, and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

Who am I you may ask? Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask.

But I guess you can see that but of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

You might be able to tell, but I copied the top portion of this post from another forum

Well I just remembered what I was supposed to remember on Thursday, after reading a topic on another forum, and as such, I was wondering if anyone here rembered the fateful day known as the 5th of November. It also reminded me that I never finished the film, and as such, I'm going to go watch it now.

You forgot the 5th of November?

I really needed a Guy Fawkes smiley.

I actually did remember, and watched it.

A VERY underrated film with tremendous writing and directing. Better than The Dark Knight imo, which I know is a controversial statement but I think it is better in every respect except for having a standout supporting actor performance like Ledger. The writing, directing, editing, cinematography, and music were all much much better.

I am a big fan of the movie but I agree, the graphic novel was fantastic.

Am I the only one that thinks the blu review of this movie was wrong? I thought the PQ was actually very good. Obviously not demo quality, but far better than some films rated higher, such as the pathetic transfer known as Glory.

I have only seen the movie once but seeing what is going on in America today with the Government taking control of everything is beginning to make feel like I'm living in the movie.

The potential realism of the movie, like Children of Men (minus the fertility issue), is a very scary thing indeed.

I remembered the 5th of November on the 6th of November

Great movie, one of my favorites. I commited his famous speach to memory. I think the Blu-ray looks very good, not the best but it looks very good to me.

V For Vendetta was one of my favorite graphic-novel adaptations. I'm surprised you even copied the whole speech from V.

I've decided to buy the graphic novel later today, as I find Alan Moore to be a great writer after reading Watchmen some time ago, and I was already going to B&N later today.
