Default 1080p problems

I have a weird problem since a couple of months, at the beginning I was tinking the problem was Sacred 2, but last week it does that while I was browsing the new stuff in the PStore and today I have buy Modern Warfare 2 and it's doing the same thing.

When I have the resolution set in 1080p the screen will often blink or have "snow" in it, and at some time it will say on my TV that there's no signal.

So can the problem be the tv, my home theater receiver, my ps3 or the wire ?

I have a Sony Bravia 32'' as my tv and my receiver is a Yamaha HTR6150.

I have try to unplug all the hdmi wires, check if there's dust and still the same thing

I had somewhat of a similar problem. When my PS3 was set to 1080p the XMB menu would flicker. That goes for videos or the PSN too. I set the PS3 to 1080i or 720p it would stop. Blu-ray movies @ 1080p did not filcker or lose signal however.

I have my PS3 hooked up to a Onkyo 606 and then through to my Samsung TV. Now if I plugged my PS3 directly into the TV it was fine. The only thing I could come up with is that I was using an 1.3b HDMI cable for the PS3 to the receiver and a 1.3a HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. When I switched the PS3 to a 1.3a cable, no more flickering at 1080p.

My satellite box is 1080i (which runs through the Onkyo to the TV) doesn't mess up if the cables are 1.3a & b but my PS3 does

Yeah I have continue my research and it's seems to have something to do with the wire.
I have a satellite box for the HDTV but only display on 1080i, so I will use the lower cable I have for this one, and try switching the 2 other for the ps3 to receiver connection and receiver to tv

I have a somewhat similar issue myself. Over the years, ive narrowed it down to my reciever and an hdmi "handshake" issue...

i have somewhat of the same issue. when i have my ps3 to my reciever (Onkyo 606) i get no signal on my tv but when i hook the ps3 directly up to the tv its fine. so i switched hdmi inputs and it still doesnt work. my cable box is also into my reciever using an hdmi and that works fine on all inputs. i cant for the life of me figure out why this is. so for now im watching my blu-rays in 1080p directly to the tv but the sound is only dolby digital through my reciever. i dont know what cables i have but could that be the problem. i did try switching the cable box wire with the ps3 wire and the same issue.

I have try switching the HDMI cable = same thing
Connnect direct to the TV and it's working correctly

But I have notice something strange, I have try Borderlands in 1080p, for 2h00 no problem, then I have switch to MW2 and it was doing it.

So:
Borderlands, blu-ray movie, PS3 XBM = correct in 1080p

MW2, Sacred 2, PStore browsing the new release = snowy, loose signal
