Default LOTR on HD-DVD? NO!

Well at least that's what the HD-DVD fans on the Amazon are arguing. They claim that because there is a placeholder that it's going to happen. They fail to realize that Amazon has hundreds of placeholders for movies that are not yet announced for BD or HD-DVD. The other claim was that Toshiba is syaing it is coming. Weird, because I checked Toshiba's website in the HD-DVD Movies section and there is no mention of it in the Upcoming Movies:

Funny stuff.

Yeah Amazon do this all the time. They have one for Star Wars. It's just there way of getting you onto there mailing list so they can send you a load of promotional offers etc.

HD VMDs have a maximum data transfer rate of 40 Mbps versus 36 Mbps for HD DVD and Blu-ray, which gives it the potential of sharper more detailed pictures over the competing formats.

I think that placeholder has been there for over a year.
