Australia LOTR is "officially" going Blu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to DVD Bits, Roadshow has sent them a "cryptic message" with an image of Frodo and the words "It's official. Middle Earth is turning Blu. Please await further details." At the bottom of the image is a date "04.2010,' which assumingly means in April. This is for Australia, but I also assume a U.S. date would be around the same time.

Personally, the image looks like a very slapdash job and I was a little cautious at first, but DVD Bits I reckon is very trustworthy when it comes to their news and they regularly put up press releases for various movies as well. Nevertheless, I could've slapped that photo up on Paint, but you can check it out at the link and decide for yourself..

(sorry if there is already thread, this news is just too great, even though it could be but a mere hoax)

Long wait? 4 months (if true) is nothing compared to how long we've waited so far for LOTR on BD. Like I and many others have already said though...will only buy if extended editions.

Image looks extremely fake. And I only care about LotR on Blu if its the extended cuts of the three movies.

WOW, hope this is true, even though that's a jank ass image. If we don't see a US release as well, then it better be region free!

They have been available for pre-order on Amazon.com, for a long time, here in the US.

I'll probably rent the theatrical versions, and buy the extended versions. I read the extended versions will be available about the time The Hobbit hits the theaters. We'll see.

Cryptic messages?
Shouldn't they call Robert Langdon?

I don't see why they couldn't have both cuts on the disc with seamless braching?
