![]() Well, considering it is apparently not even in active development anymore I doubt it will be anytime that soon unless a new writer or director comes to them with a take they get juiced on (i.e. see dollar signs). |

This is the whole reason why Time Warner owning DC Comics sucks.
DC has no say in how these movies are made. And all WB sees is Dark Knight's Dollar Signs. That's what's killed almost every movie that has been slated for development. It's lame how WB will put these films into production, just to prevent them from being made by someone else. That clause of WB having first option rights to every DC film just has killed the chance of seeing anything featuring a DC character outside of Batman and Superman. Just look at the track record so far. Cause they will never pass on a film, simply put them into pre-production and eventually kill them. |

The writer seems very honest and forthright about the whole process. My guess is that New Line was serious about making the movie and Warner had little intention of ever developing this script it inherited. Warner executives are intently focused on the bottomline of every movie and how it can be turned into a franchise and a possible summer blockbuster. This section,
When we turned the new draft in to the studio, we got a reaction that made me wonder if anyone at Warners had actually read previous drafts or the associated notes. The studio felt the movie played too young. They wanted edgier. They wanted Billy to be older. They wanted Black Adam to appear much earlier. tells me they were looking for the movie to spark a franchise with hopes of hitting box office gold by selling it to the older teen audience. |
