Trolls bashing Blu-ray on Amazon - Blu-ray Forum

http://www.amazon.com/Fantastic-Four...blurayforum-20 if you open this link and go to the customer reviews of fantastic 4 at amazon.com you will see hddvd trolls spreading all sorts of BS about the movie not playing on BR players and leaving low ratings. how wide spread is this and what can be done to get amazon to stop it! can you believe the utter desperation of these guys!

i didn't see if this issue has already been raised, if so i apologies.

Well some of them have points. How can companies release movies that dont even work in certain players.
The Best player to use to get around this is the ps3 but for people like me I cant even have it because of a ground loop problem, but for some reason i dont have that problem with my 360?
And then on the other player you have to download updates o your computer and then put it on a usb thin and then put it into the player.

well thats also Very annoying because computers suck, if your computer is like a year old and have downloaded a few things it will usually start freezing like crazy and wont work and then you cant even update your players.

Thats why I REALLY REALLY hope downloading movies will never become a new thing!

Actually, the people who are on there might be some honest people instead of trolls. Some people got upset without looking up a reason why it didn't work on their BD players. I think some of us need to move over there and post some of our own reviews to even things out.

If you look at their other reviews, you know they have an aggenda to bash Blu-ray. All their other reviews are for HD DVD products or 360 products. More likely than not, they do not have Blu-ray players and never purchased the discs. Of course, I don't know if anyone really pays attention to movie reviews on Amazon, I know I don't. If I want a movie I buy it. Of course, now everyone needs to go over and start leaving bad reviews about HD DVDs that won't play. But, I don't want to stoop to their level.

Well, as some of our insiders have said, they have suggested any upgrades be burned to the BD along with all the other encoding. However, the idea was shot down for the moment. Maybe in the future the companies will listen.

come on! 4 reviews in a row all saying the same thing with the same rating? not likely. i do agree however i think we need to balance their reviews with a bunch of 5s.

What kind of stuff are you downloading. I don't know how many times I have told family members and co-workers not to click on certain things. Yeah, those wallpapers and screensavers are free and may look cute, but nothing is really free.

i honestly believe some of us should go there and write good comments about the films. you see people shop at amazon, and i am sure that there are those who are just checking things out or maybe try to learn about BDs and when they see comments like such on amazon.com, they will probably decide to wait a little longer before adopting a format.

This is a good thing...however, some sensible comments could be made to the reviews that explain if they simply contacted their player's manufacturer, the problem could be fixed instead of being rash.

Hey, just giving them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Also, I would suggest if you post reviews that you be sensible about it and not just say, "It was a great film" and give it five stars. Tell what you liked about the film and give it an honest critique.

I just click the "No" button at the stupid reviews' end. It's really quite amusing to see a FUDdy review with a header reading "0 out of 47 people found the following review helpful," and it takes a lot less effort than writing true counterFUD.

When I find out that they are trolls, I normally just forget that they even exist. But I don't go around looking for reviewers being trolls. If I find that I don't agree with their comments, I mark them unhelpful.

Good job providing good info guys.

Rather than retaliate by bashing combo discs and suggesting people have to boil them you guys went and provided people with info on updates.

I think most people here DO take the "high road"

Well done.

I rented the disc and it plays fine on the 1400 samsung.
