What did you see the most in the theatres and how many times did you see it?
I pretty sure mine was the first Matrix when it came out- I saw it 3 times in the theatre- First time by myself, then with two different sets of friends afterwards- |

Return of the Jedi... I had just moved to a small town when ROTJ came out (was 11 then). The only theater only charged a dollar for matinee shows, so over the summer I went to see it about 30 times since it was so cheap and there was nothing else to do (the theater took about a month or two to get 'current releases', so growing up there I ended up reading movie novelisations before I ever got to see the movie).

‘Earthquake’ (1974) in sensurround ABC screen 1 Bournemouth around early 1975. Saw it three times, wow! And I can still feel the impact on my chest.
‘Indiana Jones and the last crusade’ (1989) 70mm Dolby stereo mostly likely with type A cards SS. ABC screen 1 Bournemouth, June 30th 1989 saw it three times sounded okay? ‘Indiana Jones and the last crusade’ (1989) 70mm Dolby stereo SR SS Empire Leicester Square screen 1, JBL 13KW THX sound system September 13th 1989 saw it twice in THX and sounded out of this world! Apollo 13 1995 (MGM) ABC screen 1 Bournemouth optical twin track matrix Dolby stereo A, saw it 12 times because it was the hottest mix around that year. I was watching this once in the evening then going home and watching the THX laserdisc LOUD! LOL ‘Twister’ (MGM) ABC screen 1 Bournemouth Dolby stereo A saw it around 5 or 6 times I have the tickets for most of the films I’ve seen, around the late 1980’s till now. ‘Die Hard’ Odeon Westover road screen 1 Bournemouth Dolby stereo A, twice but already saw it once in screen 2 downstairs unless that counts! ‘The Abyss’ Odeon Westover road screen 1 Bournemouth Dolby stereo A, twice sounded neat or average for the cinema back then. Hmm, or is it? ‘Titanic’ 1997 early 1998(MGM) ABC screen 1 Bournemouth Dolby SR-D 13 times or is that too many! I also projected a few films but the order is so random and the most of the screens as prints where moved from one screen to the next over the course of few weeks. UCI 10 screen Poole…and the Warner Bros Village cinemas 12 screen Bristol. ‘Star Wars episode 1 the phantom menace’ (1999) Odeon Westover road screen 1, Bournemouth Dolby stereo SR-D 6 to 7 times yes I’m guilty! LOL The Dolby film mix sound nice well almost apart from screen right that was buggered right up! It always distorted with flabby fluttery farting sound that sounded close to bottoming out! ‘Mission to mars’ (2000) Odeon Westover road screen 1, Bournemouth Dolby stereo SR-D saw it twice. ‘Star Trek VI the undiscovered country’ (1991) 70mm six-track Dolby stereo SR THX, Empire Leicester Square, screen 1, February 14th 1992. Saw it three times in THX and if I had a change I would have stayed to watch the fourth showing but had to catch, the couch home. ‘Star Trek’ (2009) 35mm Dolby digital cinema, Thursday May 7th 2009 Empire Leicester Square screen 1, JBL 56KW THX. I list dozens more a few SPL db readings on few, as I took the SPL db with me most times. |

![]() I paid or rather it was someone else for group of us kiddies and I think it was screen 2 downstairs and then saw it again in the same screen weeks later and. ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ (1980), 35mm Dolby stereo A, as soon as I left school late afternoon I headed straight for Bournemouth Gumaount. Screen 2 it was playing. I must have saw it 2 or three times more around last show of the day over the past few weeks or was it months, because films would get at least 2 or 3 months booked in on the best screen back then. ‘Return of the Jedi’ (1983) Gumaount screen 2, 35mm Dolby stereo A, at least 4 times? |

Summer of 75 saw Jaws 5 times Dec of 76 to Summer of 77 Saw Rocky 6 times From May 25th 1977 to the Summer of 78 I saw Star Wars 23 times at the theater. Dec 1977 to March 1978 saw Saturday Night Fever 11 times at the theater. All 11 times I had to SNEAK in to the rated R film. Would have been 3 more times but was caught and thrown out. but still had a winning record! June 1978 to Aug 1978 saw Grease 6 times at the theater.
