Question Good place to buy projector from?

I'm just starting to look at projectors, but most places I've looked at don't have a very wide selection... Although its not ideal, I would consider a blind-buy from an online retailer if its a reputable company and the PJ is rated well. Where do you all go for new projectors? Best Buy? Fry's? Newegg?

I bought mine from here, VisualApex....they had excellent customer service in my experience with them. I had found a cheaper projector that was around $100 less, and although they couldn't price match, they did offer a free 25' 24AWG HDMI cable and a DVI Calibration Blu-ray disc for the projector. They have since answered any e-mails I have had within 1 day too.

I also ordered my screen from here, ProjectorScreenStore, I got a nice 92" pull down Elite screen for under $100 here. All I can say is the PQ looks great, and I only have a 720p projector.

Lastly, I order any other accessories, like an HDMI repeater for the HDMI to the projector run from Monoprice.
Good luck!

Thanks fors, visualapex looks promising... Good deals and good selection. I'm helping a guy at work put together a whole new theater setup, with a fairly low budget I'm trying to steer him towards quality over quantity, but we're both going to have to settle for middle ground. Accessories and cables are definitely coming from monoprice.

I bought mine from projectorpeople.com. A+ service. Fast shipping. Would definitely buy from there again. Make sure you add items to your cart first before you check the price. Sometimes the price is lower in your cart than what is displayed on the page.

I have also helped two neighbors buy projectors. One used projectorpeople and the other used Visual Apex. Visual Apex was great as well.

Good stuff, thanks for the replies, everyone. Looks like Visual Apex and Projector People are gonna be the winners here. Not sure how soon I'll be ordering, but I'm getting excited now!

I got mine from B&H Photo, they have some good deals now and then, and unlike most projector-specific retailers they also have bing cashback although normally only 2-3%, but still it makes a bit of difference on a $2k purchase

I should also add that B&H has great customer service!

I have purchased my Infocus X10 from compusa.com (tigerdirect.com) for $1200, and got because it was on sale, it cost before $2300, but I saved $1100. tigerdirect.com doesn't have the variety of other retailers, but it's discounts are great. It was also the cheapest 1080p projector with a V-stretch mode at the time, which sweetened the deal.

AV Science (http://www.avscience.com) is a great place to buy from.

Personal, attentive service, with great advice and great prices. They offer substantial discounts off MSRP for pretty much every projector, at all times. They carry nearly everything, from budget to cost-is-no-object.

I have bought nearly all of my video equipment through here (three projectors, mount, screen, anamorphic lens/sled, etc) and I will continue to get all my stuff through them.

Plus, their online forums for projectors, home theatre builds, etc offers a wealth of knowledge and is probably the best around for those topics. I learned pretty much everything I know from the info and folks there.

My highest recommendation.
