Guerrilla Games gave a nod to the Blu-ray camp, saying the graphics and level of detail found in the game could only be done with large storage space. "It is not a luxury to have Blu-ray, but rather a necessity, as compression only gets you so far.

Anymore proof Blu-ray's extra space is a must?

Well, there's nothing explicitly wrong with the M$ codecs... but twice the efficiency? Give me a break. VC-1 is marginally better than AVC, and only at terminally low bitrates. WMA Lossless is a joke, not because of the compression, but because no one supports it aside from Microsoft themselves. WMV is at least somewhat in common usage, and has good compression ratios - of all the M$ codecs, it's the only one I really respect.

only M$ fudboys can make the argument of less capacity and compression is better than more space and larger bandwidth. only a M$ fudboy will defend a company that repeatedly sends them refurbished units that die on them three days later. M$ fudboys only make sense to themselves.

HD Movies don't fit on DVD9 - not sure how anyone can believe the same wouldn't be true for game worlds that are using HD assets. It just flys in the face of common sense.

Just like HD DVD compromises around PQ vs AQ vs Features far more than Blu-ray..the gap is even more significant for a last gen technology like DVD. You either have to make the worlds smaller, lose picture quality or sacrifice audio quality - somethings gotta give. When I see people on this board who clearly understand that in regards to HD DVD vs Blu-ray movies and yet argue that it's not really an issue for DVD games I just shake my head in disbelief...they aren't willing to make apologies for HD DVD but constantly do it for the 360. The logically inconsistency is baffling.

Don't see any reason to compromise with my HD movie choice so why would I compromise even more so with my gaming choice.

Especially when you can get the best of both - at a cost that's much lower than the alternatives - in a high quality console that's future-proof by comparison.

Vehicles haven't been shown yet but they've said they want to keep the ultra immersive FP viewpoint. Cover leaning and fire can already be seen in FP.
