Default Movie Speed Control with Left Stick on PS3

I just found out that the left stick on the PS3 can control the speed of the movie. It can do various speeds of slo-mo forward and back as well as fast forward/rewind up to 4x. I've heard people complain that there should be something between 1.5x and 10x so there it is. This is very cool

I miss the directional buttons having that functionality on newer titles. It's kind of stupid to remove it.

Oh, I noticed that recently and it left me wondering if they ever had that or if I was just going crazy
I hardly ever used the D-pad though, always he triggers.

I really hope SCE implement 0.96x for us PAL users who hate speedup. VLC still has the best version as it doesn't introduce audio artifacting.

I noticed it a while back -- still get a kick out of playing UFC fights in slow mo and listening to the announcer's extra slow, deep voice.

I love this feature, however, I haven't found a way to get it to stay on a certain speed without holding my thumb in position, which gets tiring. I watch some special features at 2x speed, especially trivia tracks.
