FutureShop Lord of the Rings SteelBook

I can comment and all I can say right now is that things are looking good in the Shire. More details to come over the next few weeks. This one presents some unique challanges as it is a 9 disc release. Right now our plan is to pack the digital copy discs onto the package but they will not sit within the casing. We are going with our own plan vs the U.S. which will be a good thing for this one. It will be Steelbook

i don't think we have to worry about that. the Futureshop buyer is against ugly and bilingual steelbooks

Well its good we are not getting crappy ironpacks this time so +1 there and yeah Brana is against the ugly and crappy looks of SB so +1 there again. If no jumbo on the SB, then halleluyah im all over this.

I am glad you posted the question too. I just hope Brana listens to some of the subsequent comments, and makes efforts to have the films released in 3 seperate (3 disk) SteelBooks as oppossed to 1 or more Jumbo's.

...unfortunately, there is NO WAY it can be done. jumbo-case is the ONLY option. even those who "doctored" the Monsters Inc. and UP SBs to satisfaction will find it impossible to fit 6 discs inside a standard-sized SB.

releasing them separately is the only way to get standard-sized SBs, but that will ONLY be possible if FS secures exclusive rights from NL/WB to sell each movie individually as each of them will have to have its own UPC. I dont see that happening AT ALL. the only way to go about it is what another user suggested in a separate thread...that they sell the 3 as a pack.

Awesome news. I was afraid it would end up being an IronPack.
Hopefully they do individual SteelBooks for all 3 titles and not a Jumbo, but i will take whatever FS feeds us

What would be awesome, though probably quite a bit more expensive, is to release all three as a 3-disk (or now a 2-disc) SteelBook, package all three together in a box.

Doubt it would ever happen though.

That is the best option I would think, however it makes to much sense to do it that way

Ohhhh boy this is a tough one. It's the theatrical LoTR release but it's a steelbook. I wish they were releasing the extended editions in steelbooks. I would get those in a heartbeat.

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm not sure I want the theatrical cuts, but if they're steelbooks, I may have to jump on them.
