You will pass on THE MUST OWN titles just because of that logo?
If a domestic Blu-Rays comes before I'll be getting it.
If not I'll buy two of each Steelbooks (at least) and keep a sealed copy for my collection and one to watch.

Guess they have to do it steel because it will be only the theatrical version for now. I've heard many fans saying they rather wait another 1-2 years for the extended director's cut which will be released together with the next part, The Hobbit.

Same here. I told myself that I will not buy any theatrical versions of LOTR. Now I might have to change that stance, if they are SteelBooks.
