I finally got around to uploading photos of my HT and deleting the old shots. These are my first photos since installing my KRP-600M several months ago. Also lots of shots of the VAC tube amps and B&W speakers. Check it out.

I wish. I've developed home addition plans with an architect and there is a decent HT area designed as part of a master bedroom suite. I went as far as getting city approval for the addition, but couldn't justify going way into debt. If I had the money I would start construction right now.

It's 110 WPC, which is toward the low end of the recommended power for the 802D, but those speakers are actually quite sensitive/efficient. The VAC sounds far more open and detailed than solid state amps like Classe and Pass. |

Greg,
Glad you posted a new/revised Gallery with the new larger Kuro. It looks great; now you just need the added space, but just like you, we are waiting to see what you come with once you can afford the addition to the house. Rich |

John, here are two quick shots of the rear panel. I don't want to move the amp, so this is the best I can do for now. The binding posts on the back are sweet, but no way to use bananas. I had to order new cables with spades on one end. Also note the proprietary power cables with their beefy collars. This is the only way to connect the amp to its external power supply.

The Avatar had an internal power supply, but the Phi Beta 110i has an external 42-lb power supply that I keep about four ft away from the amp itself. I suspect that Kevin designed the Phi Beta 110i to separate the grounding wire and keep it separately shielded all the way to the power supply. |
