Problem with background downloading off psn? - Blu-ray Forum

i was downloading the new ratchet and clank demo and put it to perform in the background the yellow and green light were both flashing indicating that it was downloading ok, but when i was watching a dvd it stopped downloading is this meant to happen or can it not download while watching dvd or playing a game etc. thanks

Hi Tich,

yep,the PS3 stops downloading when you watch a DVD or play a game.

Background downloading only continues while in the XMB or playing offline games I think.

thanks for the response guys, i thought that was the case. i guess il just have to leave it to download.

Backround downloading stops if you:

Watch a DVD
Watch a BD Movie
Play a game and go online with it
Play a Demo that has online aspects (GT5P)

You can backround download while folding so I suggest that if you PS3 is going to be on for a few hours.

i know i said this before in a thread i made but i will say it again all of my game demos are not working except for puzzle fighter. they make this weird, annoying noise that drives me nuts and i hate to turn it on mute just so i dont have to listen to it. i checked everything including my hdmi, audio settings, etc. and they were ok. plus doesnt happen when i play a ps3 game with the disc and i can do eveything else just fine but something weird happened to my ps3 game demos and i dont know what
