Default Films that have a negative influence

Generally films that are not wholesome and send a degrading demeaning message. I thought American Psycho showed alot of bad behavior but I guess that was the intent of the director.

American History X would be one that comes to mind.

There was a lesson learned in it though, I wouldn't consider the entire film negative. But, I can see where you're coming from as some people view the movie differently.

Fight Club, i mean you got fighting, anarchist view points, and good ole homegrown terrorism.

But if we were to take your thread title literally, i think the movie that had THE worst INFLUENCE no doubt about it is....

Wall Street

"Greed is Good"

a simple quote that influenced a generation.

American History X, while violent and shocking, is not a negative film, imo. Rather, the point is to demonstrate the futility of hatred and nonsensical reasons for racial violence.

Basically, i think that any films which contain explicit sex are negative influences, as are films which contain a ton of blood and gore, or a ton of swearing (especially when abusing God's name is involved).

I'm going to say any movie that glorifies drug use would be negative in my book. Kids see people getting high and everything is wonderful, I can handle watching it, but I wouldn't let my daughter.

any film with gore violence and/or mature themes that a parent lets their 5 year old watch.

its more the audience than the film, IMO.

Though considered a cult classic now Touch of Evil was Hollywood taboo at its best in the conservative 50's era. The film still sends chills during some scenes.

Also I have not seen Sweeney Todd but I imagine that film was very negative from what I hear.
