Default HD Scape - Fireplace - Will Not Play on PS3 - UPDATE: replacements available now

Got this in today from Amazon. I put it in and get this error message -

Any ideas what it means?

Did you call Sony? They should be able to tell you what's up with the message number. Sorry I'm not more help.

Because I wanted it, is there a ******* problem?

There is another thread about why people are purchasing this and you might want to go stick your antics in there. I wanted this because I WANTED IT. I don't tell you how to spend your money do I?

I have a legitimate issue and quite frankly, I looked forward to seeing a fire in HD on my damn plasma. I think it's cool.

If you don't, that's fine - got post in another thread.

Are you playing this on your PS3? I have had discs do this occasionally. All i did was hit the PS button and reload it and they played straight away.

There is another thread or two referencing the same error message on the PS3 regarding other titles from way, way back. One was Chronos, the other was Legends Of Jazz. It sounds like the Chronos error was due to a firmware change to the PS3 back in March that didn't get completely communicated down the replication chain.

Maybe this thread will help (I've haven't read the entire thing).

Thread reported I wish people could stick to a topic.

You will have to call sony tech support. Chances are the disk is wrong (like Chronos) or the PS3 firmware upgrade coming soon may fix it.

Behold, the power of search! Check out this thread:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=5852

This was somebody reporting a similar problem with the Chronos disc. Sounds like it is some sort of conflict with the way the encoded the disc and Sony's current firmware. It would appear that contacting the disc manufacturer to report the problem would be the thing to do.

Good luck!

Google brings up search results of this error having occurred with both Chronos and Legends of Jazz. In both cases the disc needed to be reauthored to fix the problems. I recommend you contact the publisher - hopefully they'll know what's wrong and can tell you if they have any fixed discs in the pipeline.

PS. Try rebooting the PS3 and see if it works.

I bought Chronos on Blu-ray and it had a problem with how they made it. I was able to email the company that made it, and they sent me a new one (all I had to do was email a copy of my receipt). Perhaps that is what is happening with the fireplace blu-ray.

I have a feeling this disc is going to end up with the same fate.

On the phone with Sony and the guy came back and said the reason it won't play is because HD-DVD is not compatible with the PS3. The PS3 only play's BD and DVD's. I told him I am not an idiot and I knew that. He said this because he did not understand what I meant by saying HD movie. He is not bright. Still on the phone seeing if he can give me any insight.

I doubt anything will be resolved though.
