I don't really like this new direction...and what was wrong with the concept art?! They were finally ditching the Angelina Jolie rip off design. I was hoping they were going in an Uncharted direction.

With those twig-like arms she looks more like Angelina (body-wise). The previous PS2 iterations didn't remind me of Angelina Jolie at all in terms of Lara's character design. Now the manor in the PS2 games was definitely based on the manor in the movies.

This is a "spin off" game though is it? Aren't there two in production and this one is a fixed camera action/puzzler game designed for 1 or 2 players? More arcadey than the "traditional" Lara game?
I thought the core franchise was being revamped with a new look Lara (and possibly new back story, etc) |

Crystal Dynamics today announced that their upcoming isometric downloadable Lara Croft adventure, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, will come to the PSN on September 28th for $14.99.
The Redwood City based developer also announced today that they were planning 5 pieces of DLC – or Downloadable Lara Croft as they like to put it – between October and December of this year. The first three are said to be expansions that includes fresh puzzles and new areas to visit, while the last two are playable character packs which removes Lara and Toto Totec from the game, as you play as other “well-known videogame characters.” Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is scheduled for a September 28th release for $14.99 on the PSN. |
