Default Worried About 11/27

No important releases for Blu and Old School and Anchorman on HD-DVD. Could we assume an easy blu victory this week and lose?

Battles can be lost and still the war can be won in the end. Whats with all of the trivial fear threads. Personally its petty and of no consequence.

considering the boatload of titles the 20th, the carry over will still be very huge for blu-ray. we have titles coming out on the 27th also. I know who killed me is a day and date. I know i heard it was bad but it is a day and date. premonition and perfect stranger were very bad but it still moved alot of discs. I look at the 27th as the make-up week for videos, alot of people that didn't pick up spidey, pixar films, ect.. will get pick them up. if anybody has seen I know who killed me, does lindsey go topless?
I thought I heard she did.

I am pacing myself on purchases. At this stage, HD DVD doesn't have much to pit against us, so I am limiting myself to 3 titles per week. That way, when the slower weeks roll around ,there are still titles for me to purchase and maintain my steady contribution to the Nielson numbers.

No worries on this end. This date will take care of itself.

We survived Transformer week, this will not be a factor. We will prevail as always. Besides I have heard Omega man was pretty good. Anyone have info on this movie?

I think I know Who Killed Me has been delayed.

Old School and Anchorman are both catalogue titles. I bet most fans of those movies already have them on SD DVD. There probably won't be a whole lot of copies sold.

believe it or not, "I Know who Killed Me" will easily outsell Anchorman and Oldschool that week. Plus don't forget, DieHard and Hairspray from the previous week, will have strong legs!

Excellent point on Tranformers. Omega man is a dull 70's movie. I saw it back in the (very old) day as a kid and I remember how it didn't impress a 12 year old, so I know I won't pick this title up. An over blown, made for Chuck Heston 70s drive-in flick is all. I'll get the new one with Will Smith though.

It's on schedule...that original report was erroneous, Ditto on the rest.

don't worry, there will be plenty of residual sales from the die hard series that comes out the week before...and not to mention the pixar movies and spiderman 3 from weeks earlier which will easily push blu over for that week....

These are not titles which beg for the high-def treatment, even if they were new to the format. I understand people wanting the top quality, and I will be getting Superbad on BD, but it is not a must for me to get a comedy in hi def, as I am buying it for the substance, not the visual and audio quality.

I'd get Planet of the apes in a New York minute. Omega man will seem very dated and most people here won't really be too happy with it. I hear many on this site having heard of the classic title and are expecting something good. I saw it in the theater also. Did nothing for me. But that is only my opinion. Means nothing. If you enjoy it, all the better. We should all enjoy our movies and thats the bottom line. Thanks, Mark

Those HD DVD releases will not have a huge impact!

I think that all should be fine. There are alot of titles coming and some of these purchases have to be spread out for some of us. It has been an expensive past few weeks.

Pretty funny to think though with the release of Old School on HD DUD, there will be plenty of red ants wandering around saying "Your my boy BLU!"

Dont forget that the weekend prior is the Black Friday weekend, when many new players of both formats will be sold.
