Default Wireless Option for BD-P1600

Or do as I do and use something like the Asus wl-330ge. It's a wireless adapter that plugs into the ethernet port and is powered by the USB port on the back of the BD player. Works like a charm for $40 or less.

Default Bd-1600 model

i have installed the bd-1600 model connected via hdmi to my denon 1910, the problem that i have encounter is when i setup the BD player, is when i choose audiophile mode, to make recognize the FULL HD,as DTS MA OR DOLBY TRUE HD, the sound do not play on the speaker, the receiver show that is receiving the signal, even show the DOLBY OR DTS HD RECOGNIZE.

if we change to PCM, obviously work, but the receiver do not show on the screen HD just MULTI CH>

any suggestion?

Hello everyone, I got this same BD player about a year ago, and I am wondering how good it really is? I never had any problems until now
I was watching sherlock holmes yesterday and it would skip many times at different parts of the movie(it wasn't always the same part, so I assume the disc is not damaged).
I then returned the blu-ray copy of the movie, and got a new one, the problem is less evident, but it is still there (although less evident, it's noticeable because it basically skips 1 to 3 seconds)

Same thing happens with my copy of watchmen.

I updated the blu-ray player yesterday prior to watching sherlock holmes again, but I still got the problems.

Do you guys think the problem is related to the BD-player?

Anyone know about Blockbuster on Demand service? Just signed-up last night and rented and watched Sherlock Holmes. My 1600 worked flawlessly. I was checking out my account settings online this morning and saw that the service can be configured for blu-ray quality if you have the proper equipment, blu-ray player, hdmi cable, and 1080p tv, which I do have. I selected blu-ray as my preffered format. My question is am I going to be able to watch blu-ray quality with BB on Demand now?

I have connected my external drive to my player and can now access all my movies and music via my TV. My player is also connected to my wireless router for internet access. I would like to access/share the drive through the player on my home LAN. Can anybony help!?

I own both of those Blu-ray discs and have not had a problem with either one of them. I've watched Watchmen three times, and Sherlock Holmes twice. I'm still using firmware 1.04 right out of the box, and haven't even touched the firmware update as of yet. It's played every disc that I've thrown in there, including many new releases.

Weird...

Sherlock Holmes played without a hitch as well, and I've watched the movie and the supplemental bonus material twice now. I've heard that was a problematic disc for some people, but my Samsung ran it flawlessly.

Angry My Samsung BD-P1600 has never worked properly...

Early on, when I first purchased it in April '09, it would play some purchased movies OK, but would break up and skip some...sometimes it would just lock up completely and I'd have to eject the disc, power the unit down, and then start over again. Every now and then, it would play the rest of the movie okay with only a few problems. Rental Blurays on the other hand: almost every one of them refused to play at all and I'd have to return to the rental store to get a regular DVD instead.

Firmware upgrades would fix one problem and introduce several others. Poor audio playback, random freezes and lockups. No rental Blurays would play at all.

Took it back to Best Buy and they tinkered with it for about an hour and said nothing was wrong with it, it played fine with the one movie they tried. Told me to do a firmware update (again) and let them know if I had any problems. First movie I tried (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) just skipped and stuttered with no real watchable parts, so I switched to using my Magnavox Bluray player exclusively. Took my Samsung back to Best Buy and they said they would ship it off to the manufacturer. It came back over two weeks later and still wouldn't play any new movies whatsoever (bought or rental), so I took it back to Best Buy where they proceeded to download and install yet another firmware update and told me to try it now.

It didn't work. It has sat in my room for about 4 months now, and I'm just waiting for the Manufacturer warranty to run out so I can get Best Buy to replace it for me free under their Black Tie Warranty service.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT BECAUSE OF THIS!! This is ridiculous beyond belief. Why should I have to work so hard to get something to work? My Magnavox has played blurays flawlessly. I won't go back to Samsung, I know that.

And for the record: I tried every single non-playing Bluray that didn't work on my Samsung in my Magnavox player, and they all worked just fine!

It isn't defective discs. It's a defective company!!!

Odd.

Every single disc that I've thrown into my machine has played flawlessly, and that was straight out of the box without updating to the newest firmware.

New releases, old Blu-ray movies, DVD's, CD's, etc.

Hurt Locker, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Sherlock Holmes, Watchmen, 9, Inglorious Basterds, Zombieland, Up, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Apollo 13, Ninja Assassin, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Graduate, The Blind Side, Ponyo, Up in the Air....you name it, I've tried it.

Absolutely love this Blu-ray player.

Default samsung bp-d 1600/XAC

I have had this samsung bp-d 1600/XAC CANADA region 1 for a few weeks and have latest firmware installed over a wired network. Good so far, Youtube works (Netflix,Blockbusers,Pandor not available here). Good picture quality and plays burned DVD-R & DVD+R if the pal contend is converted to ntsc... The not so good, no divx support, will not play mkv or mp4 files on dvd or usb ports, samsung says the usb ports do not support USB 2.0 ???? so you cannot watch any video format only pictures and music

Default AVCHD No longer working

Here was my problem. About a week ago a new blu ray that i bought was not playing. I think it was Dirty Harry. So I connected up to the internet and downloaded new firmware at all was good. Somewhere in between then and now I forgot to disconnect the ethernet cable and it took another firmware update. This time the firmware has rendered half my collection, AVCHD on dual layer dvd useless. I tried resetting the machine to factory defaults by booting it up and pressing the FF for 5-10 seconds. That didn't help. I tried putting older firmware on a USB stick and updating that way but the player comes up with an error message. Any idea's or is this thing now a doorstop to me?

Has any one had problems playing The Hangover?
Just tried it, and I canīt get through that little disc that comes before the menu, the player just freezes there.

I have the latest firmware, so I just canīt figure what is going on.
