Question Samsung BD-P1600 Network Help!

Hey everyone

Please can you help me out. I recently got my bluray player online using an ethernet cable. It passed the network test and said I was fully connected. Youtube works a treat. However, BD-Live doesn't work. I tried 2 discs (Inglourious Basterds & Ghostbusters) and they both said 'you are not connected' and 'confirm you're connected' and all that mumbo jumbo.

Is there a setting I need to change to access BD-Live?

Thanks so much in advance

Default BD Live Problem

I was having the exact same problem and chatted with a tech on Samsungs website. He said to do the following and it worked like a charm...

1) Make sure there is no disc in the player.
2) Press and hold the fast forward button for 5 seconds... the display will read "reset".
3) This will reset the machine and bring you to the language menu.
4) Select your language and then reload your disc and choose BD Live... it should now work.

Let me know if this worked for you please.

Bill

I pressed the fast forward button for five seconds - nothing.
I then pressed the scene skip button for five seconds which brought up a small box which read RESET and listed languages. However, this box only came up for under a second and disappeared before we could do anything. We've tried it five times and the box keeps going.

Any ideas?

Did you do it without a disc in the player? My screen stayed up until I chose my language. It might have reset it anyways... i would put your disc in and try the BD Live again.

Yeah, there was no disc in. I tried another disc with BD-Live - it still thinks we're disconnected

Doing the above resets the player. When you do this you'll be rolling back the firmwar eto what was on the machine when you purchased it. Therefor your won't have the latest firmware revision. Perhaps getting the latest firmware is the answer?

Because the reset didn't work properly, my player still has the latest firmware.

Cheers

When you do a rest your firmware defaults back to what was shipped with the player. Therefor you no longer have the latest firmware.

Make sure you have a USB thumb drive attached to the player.

The reset didn't work. I just checked, and I still have the latest firmware. I think it's a dodgey player.

Default if i remember

If i remember right, on your machine it's the "skip" button u need to hold, not fastforward...

brADmatt is right.....make sure you have a usb thumb (flash) drive in the usb port. The BD-P1600 does not have built in memory to access BD live so that very well may be the problem. Hope it works out.
