PORN on BD or HD DVD? - Blu-ray Forum

I am hearing different sides to this story. At first wasn't PORN going BD only? Now i have read they are or some going HD DVD? Or are they going both BD and HD DVD?

This isn't a good thing for BD if PORN goes HD DVD?

There are loads of porn studios. Of the two major ones, Vivid and Private, one is releasing on Blu-ray first and then eventually HD DVD and one is undecided.
There are one or two smaller studios like Wicked Pictures and Adam and Eve that are releasing on HD DVD.
Do not think for a second that the adult film industry's decision to back either Blu-ray or HD DVD will have even a thousandth of the effect on the format's success as the major motion picture studio's format of choice.
VHS was the first way to get porn into the home, which is why it was so successful. The internet is the tool for porn.

Considering how much free porn there is on the Internet, for starters, I'm not so sure porn is really that important in the overall scheme of things.

Yeah, the porn industry was one of the reasons VHS dominated over Beta, however nowadays porn is mostly obtained via the internet, so it will be far less important in the Next-gen DVD battle.

High transfer is critical for Porn. It's not only the act of having sex but the video quality is utmost important. I expect to see 40+ Mbps video bitrate. One thing I hate the most about internet porn is the poor quality of the video. That is the only reason why I stopped viewing.......

I don't care what the content is as long as the video quality is exceptional....

I watched both and I can tell you both are superb in terms of quality, and the bitrate is around 36 Mbps!

You can see so much details that you can't see in the old days - It makes you think that you are the real audience

Anyway, I will buy more when I go there again!

As I know, you can't order from Amazon.co.jp, that's why I searched in Toyko instead of ordering online.

About sensored/unsensored, you still find those important "parts" are covered, but not that "fully covered". You can still see what you need to see

I emailed to the sales, catalog@nbj.co.jp and asked for more information on purchasing from out of country. Hopefully they'll reply with the purchasing info. I hope they'll work with me, cause in the past I was able to order JP stuff via email, but that was many years ago... and different site. I need it bad, brother!

According to the article below it appears that Sony may be holding off on Adult film. It could be fatal for Blu-ray if they snub the porn industry...

I don't think they will snub it for long. If that's what they are doing. Porn is no longer a taboo.
I really hope it's just because all BD lines are full to the max.

Doubtful as most people use the INET for that sort of thing.

In any event there is already porn on BD in the form of two Japanese market films. Do a search on porn on the site.

Porn was a big deal back when home movies was not common and porn was only available on VHS. I dont think it will have near the impact.
