The high-definition format war tilted even more heavily in favor of Blu-ray Disc despite a rash of inexpensive HD DVD players sold through Wal-Mart and other discount retailers in recent weeks. Nielsen VideoScan data for the week shows 72.6% of high-definition discs purchased by consumers were Blu-ray and just 27.4% were HD DVD. HD DVD players have been selling for as little as $98, one-fourth the lowest street price for a Blu-ray player.

so, after paramount being paid off, hd releasing thier 'big gun' in transformers and hddvd players practically being given away, BD continues to defeat hddud at every turn. EVERY turn. good work BD faithful

I didn't actuall purchase any blu rays ON black Friday. Couldn't find any good deals worth making the extra effort. I did order some Christmast themed blu rays on Amazon a few days later. Lately though, I'm trying this new thing were I focus on buying gifts for others....and not so much for myself.

hate to sound all "even God can't sink this ship," but if Transformers couldn't beat BD that week it came out, i don't know.....

Maybe these are exactly the kind of sales numbers that Warner has been waiting to see in regard to choosing a side after the 4th Quarter.
