Dual Shock 3 - Blu-ray Forum

I recently got an import Dual Shock 3. It worked fine for a few weeks but now it's constantly clicking in the down direction without anyone touching the controller. It's impossible to navigate menus or play games with a controller that is constantly clicking down. I pressed the reset button on the bottom of the controller and it didn't change anything.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Could the latest system update be the cause of it? Do you know if there is a way to fix it or is the controller just defective? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you maybe referring to the analog stick(s) slightly sticking? I have that problem on one of my regular PS3 controllers. After letting go of the analog, it tends to stick every now and then and not return fully to its center position. I've been meaning to open it up and see if I can lube it or clean it up somehow. If that's not what you're talking about,then disregard

No problems with mine and the general build quality feels higher than the SIXAXIS. I think the reset button is for the Bluetooth pairing side of things so that wouldn't help. Can you tell if it's the DPad down or analogue stick down that's causing the problem? Try rotating the sticks at their full extent a few dozen times.

i have two Dual shock 3 controller's 1white and 1black, so far i didn't run into a sticky analog stick...but a friend of mine's ordered from the same place (play-asia.com) and he's having the same problem...

I own two white ones, and have no problems on either. On one the left stick feels a little grainy like it touching a rough spot on the plastic inside but it has gone away after use. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, I had problems with my sixaxis where the sticks were not responding properly and it would do all sorts of funny things, like when I was playing Virtua Tennis it would all of a sudden make my player run to the right and keep running for a while. I agree with Shin-ra on the build quality, the DS3's are impressively solid feeling when compared to the Sixaxis.

Sony is hoping to release DS3 to US in early '08!

Yes but unfortunetly "early" can be any time from January to March, and honestly I did not miss rumble until they gave it back. Right after I got mine my brother tried it out with resistance and said "damn you, now I have to buy one". If you can wait great, but honestly I could not do without it now.

I will be waiting and you may not know the answer to this...but... has every game been configured to rumble? and if you only know specific cases I have:

NFS Carbon
Resistance - Obviously Does
Unchartered: Drakes Fortune
Spiderman 3
Tony Hawks project 8

More importantly - High Velocity Bowling - I really want to know if this has any rumble capabilities this is my newest favorite game.

I think I'll just wait till Sony brings it to the US, hopefully any of these bugs will be worked out by then. Hopefully we'll get a white one too.

Carbon fiber look would be sweet as hell too.
