Error: Region A only - Blu-ray Forum

But im in Region A! Ill explain just bought a sony vaio notebook with a Matshita BD-CMB UJ-120 Blua ray player. I also bought fantasic 4. When i try to play the Movie I get a messafe saying "Attention This Disc has been coded for region a only and will not play in this macine, please play in a region a player.

SO then i went to device manager and tried to change the region to a.but i get numbers instread of letters, and its already set to region 1, which is the us. isnt region a also us? any suggestions

probly has the b settings integraded lol id take it back to where I got it.

hmmm. seems like i had this issue when i first got my vaio notebook, but i can't remember what i did to fix it...... (sorry). are you running windvd (bd for vaio) ? open that and make sure under "settings/region" it is set to region a. maybe?

thank fo rthe suggestion, i tried that and when it region menu pops up, there is no region selected, and i cant chabge it becuase the options are grayed out., even tried running it in administrator mode and same thing, wont let me change the options. any other sugestions?

i just checked and on mine the region options are greyed out when a disc is in..... if you have one in, try taking the disc out and then adjusting the setup?
