Same here, didn't know anything about Doughnut Drake until now, haha.

But anyway back on topic, I have been wanting to play this game ever since it came out for the 360 here in the US. And with the good sales in Japan, hopefully this game gets released here.

No shit sherlook! Better sales than a DS and PSP game. This is the biggest one day sales since Destiny Remake and Abyss.

I have no sales data of original PS games such as Tales of Destiny 2 but I guess the numbers is the same as Destiny Remake.

And I thought Namco said something for a while that their main console for Tales games will be on Wii. I guess they will make a new strategy now. RPGs belongs on PlayStation.

And the third party games Wii is getting will be shared with PS3 in HD so I think Nintendo is back with the N64/Gamecube problem again. If Sony hadn't showed their motion controller I guess Wii would have been fine then. But seeing Wii dropping like a sinking Titanic in Japan compared to last year it just show which home system people have chosen over there. Third party support is going stronger on PS3 and Wii suffers.

It may yet be coming to America.

At a panel at Sakura Con this past April, voice actor Troy Baker mentioned doing additional voice work for ToV.

Yeah i've already seen that but already knew that the additional English dubbing to the PS3 version has been completed but it's like still not releasing the game. Plus still haven't got the Tales of Vesperia licensed yet. Plus with Tales Studio not doing so well financially I worry about the future of Tales games in general much less an American localization.

I guess I must have been typing too fast and forgot to say the movie.

To me it's almost like Namco is questioning themselves of releasing Tales of Vesperia outside of Japan or not and am worried about Tales Studio these days, you know like hope they don't go under and maybe Namco is feeling the same way.

Pretty much things don't look good for the Tales series these days and do wish they stop remaking Tales of Phantasia.

It doesn seem rather nonsensical to do the work towards a US release then not actually produce it. I figured I'd post the story since it was brought up in April and this thread hadn't seen any activity since last December. The movie you mentioned tho..I don't suppose the game is waiting on someone like Animeigo, Funimation, or even Bandia Visual themselves to synch the new anime up with it in America?

I myself worry a little about Tales studio and other RPG devs in general. And I do have theories as to what's been harmful to RPGs and their future.

Well having a tie-in with the movie with the game might generate some sales and maybe Bandai might do it but still think that if Tales Studio situation does have any effect on why we don't have Tales of Vesperia yet then we know that Tales Studio just can't afford any mistakes like that bug issue in Tales of Graces on the Wii.

I would like this game to be released in English somewhere, I was hoping an Asian version would appear with English subs at least, but as yet nothing coming.

I wish all Japanese games had English subs since I play many of them and even import them sometimes and then when released in America it can have an English dub with subs included too.

I've really given up hope for an English release for this game. If it's announced, I will be getting it first minute it's in stores. Also waiting for Tales of Graces as well (need something to turn on my Wii for).

Knowing Bandai Namco, I don't see the PS3 version coming here, which is a shame. They never released enhanced ports of their Tales of games here. After all we didn't get the PS2 port of Tales of Symphonia and now we aren't getting the PS3 port of Vesperia.

As for Graces, while it is a great game that got me playing my Wii for weeks, I still don't see it coming here as it sold poorly in Japan. I don't even want to imagine how poorly it will sale here as the Tales of series is not as popular as said the Final Fantasy series.

But of course there is still hope that they will come but after no announcements at E3 this year, it is looking dim.

At least you can still import the games I guess, since the PS3 is region-free and there are ways to get import games to work on Wii and plus there is a team working on a English translation patch for Graces as I am typing this and so yea.

We did get the GBA version of Tales of Phantasia but that's only because we never did get the Super Nintendo or PS1 version and didn't get the PSP versions that was made after it.

But can you really said that the GBA version is an ENHANCED port of the game?

Because in my post above I mention that we don't get enhanced ports of Tales games, I never said anything about not getting normal ports. After all from what I heard from many fans, the GBA version of Phantasia is the worse version of the game.

But then again, I never played any version of Phantasia so I don't know if the GBA version is an enhance port of the game from the Super Nintendo and PS1 version at all. All I heard that it is the worse version of the game.

Apparently there is another remake of the game coming to PSP again, they really got to stop remaking the game and start working on a new Tales. Though there has been some news going around that the PS3 will be getting its own Tales of game soon.

Well the PS1 version of Tales of Phantasia was enhanced from the Super Nintendo version but the GBA version does seem like to be a port of the Super Nintendo(Famicon) version but with just having some of the extra stuff that was made in the PS1 version.

The anime version was ok but pretty short.

The final day of Namco Bandai’s ‘A Tale of Two Richards’ teaser website has gone live. And what does it tease today? Why, none other than Tales of Vesperia!

Go ahead. Visit the site, and move your eyes towards the left of the distortion. The ‘Ta’ from the Tales of Vesperia logo are clearly visible. Here’s a better comparison:

Looks like the PlayStation 3 version of Vesperia is finally coming stateside. Expect an official announcement from Namco tomorrow, also known as the date teased on day two.
Tune in tomorrow and hope our dreams aren't crushed!
