Default 1080p/7.1-Capable Laptops?

How many notebooks currently on the market actually are capable of outputting true 1080p resolution as well as 7.1 sound?

Which one of them is the all-around best?

Anyone else? I'm just wondering if I should try to get a laptop within the next month or two or wait until later in the new year here for something else.

I just bought an Alienware m9750 - It has Optical Out, 7.1 Stereo Out, and a Blu-ray burner. Also a DVI output, and a native resolution of 1920x1200 (higher than 1080p).

The new Alienware m17x laptops coming out will have HDMI out, but probably won't see them for a few more months.

I've read some not-so-good things about Alienware of late. Are they pretty much the only option then for now to get at least 1080p or 7.1 sound?

The m17x i was informed 3 days ago will be hitting in around 3 weeks and i for sure am waiting for its release after getting rid of my awful dell xps 1730.

When you say bad things about alienware are you specifically talking about bd drive and performance or the overall laptop???

All of the Alienware laptop problems are FUD. Mines been working great for a little over 2 months now, not a problem at all. If you get a m9750 make sure you get WindowsXP and the SLI 7950 GTX GPU's. Vista + the 8700 series GPUs are a serious problem.

If you are scared, get the extended warranty, 3 years is a long time...

Any other ideas? All opinions are appreciated here as this is a fairly expensive investment!

Uhm... ok.

See post above this one - Fujitsu has Blu-ray.
Search a little, there are a few out there besides your FZ and the Dell...
