Default HP or Dell Laptops?

I am needing to buy a laptop. Dell has a sale going on, but I prefer HP (had previous sale which I missed).

Which is the better brand?

There pretty much the same, just go with what looks better to you and has better performance for the same price.

Mac

I had a Dell desktop that never gave me any trouble. The only thing I didn't really like about it was that anything you needed had to be ordered. Now that it seems that Dell is moving more into the retail sector, that probably wouldn't be much of a problem.

My laptop that I had before my Macbook was an HP, and in general I didn't have any problems with it either (hardware wise). My concern that Dell may be that, since they ARE starting to move into the retail sector, particularly Wal-Mart, that their quality may be sliding. I don't know this for sure, it's purely speculation, but it would be something I would be thinking about.

I am on my 3rd Dell and never had a problem that their fine in-home service department couldn't fix efficiently and effectively.

I just got a Latitude D630 and I love it!!
