I love their slogan! "Open your eyes" I mean seriously, the quality on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray is so bad you really just can't open your eyes to watch it.

Thank You HD-FVD...you have opened my eyes.

Cool so how long would it take with my 1.5mbps too download? & the file size whats' that 50gig oh sorry my HDD is just 80gig. Ummmm 50gig file now that's one movie or what? Goes out to get 500gig UBS drive, $200. 48 hours later of downloading & 99.9% done, file error, oh fun time, time too retry. 7 days later done.
OK, oh wait I just have 17" notebook & it doesn't have a HDMI port & my bigscreen will not take 1080P via the PC port. Now I have to go out & get a UBS BluRayR/W drive, ok how much is that???? Not out, oook. In the mean time, someone want to borrow the movie to watch, oh sorry I am not giving you my computer. Waits a few years, ok got the UBS BlurayR/W, $250 later. Oh my, my HHD has crashed & I lost the movie.

Let me think..... ummmmmm........ No.

I'm sorry folks, but I thought that observation was halarious. Lets not forget, It's their slogan. I think the humar is pre-existing.

Its like that egg company "Miracle Eggs". Their moto used to be: "If its a good egg, its a Miracle".

FVD is a red laser solution that supports FVD-video and WMV-9 HD video codecs, and WMA, LPCM and ITRI-Audio codecs. The disc can store 135 minutes of HD full-length movies in 720p/24/30 (SL), or in 1080i60/p24 (DL, or 3 hrs TL), in addition to 720x480 and 320x240 regular video resolution at 60i. The FVD player is suited with DVI/HDMI and component analog connections, optical and coax for 5.1 or 2-channel audio, peak bit rate 15Mbps. According to the company at CES the player is able to output 1080i over component analog because the format uses its own content protection system (ITRI-AES, Innovative Technologies Research Institute - Advanced Encryption Standard).
