Default IR Repeater/Extenders

Looking for suggestions for a budget IR Repeater/Extender for my setup. I've got a player that has its IR port directly in the center, and is blocked by the doors of my cabinet when I'm not sitting in a certain spot.

Anyone have any suggestions that doesn't involve converting to an RF hub system that's hundreds of dollars? I'm not opposed to moving to something like that in the future, but for now it really isn't necessary as it is only one device I'm having issue with.

Looking for something simple, inexpensive, yet reliable since this is more nusance than problem.

Thanks,

~Camper

Try this link, it has a bunch of different options at different prices.

I used to use a Radio Shack IR repeater which converts to RF, under $100, looks like a pair of pyramids and worked pretty well. I replaced it with a Harmony 890 last year.

Cool, thanks. I'll have to poke around at RS and see what they have, I just need soemthing simple for my BD player. It's the only stinking thing that has the sensor in the dead center of the device

Well, what I have done in my machine closet is mount the repeater's IR blaster in the rack facing out.

In my case, there is sufficient room for the IR to bounce around and reach every device without sticking individual emitters on the face of the device.

So when I open the closet for a show-and-tell, you don't see any emitters or little wires.

By the way, I do have my RS pair which I don't use anymore if you might be interested, PM me.

Good luck on your setup.
