I just relocated my audio rack to the right of my couch in the corner of my loft. So far I am very pleased with the move save one small problem. Some of the components are out of a line of sight depending on where you sit so you have to contort your arms in all manner of directions to get the remote to work. I am looking for a simple inexpensive solution so I can be lazy and not have to lift my arm up 2 or 3 feet.
![]() Here is a shot of the couch from behind the audio rack. As you can see, we're only talking about 15-20 feet max. If it helps, I like to use all of my remotes but I do have a harmony universal for the simple days. ![]() I was thinking of getting something like the Buffalo IR-250 In-Wall Insert IR Repeater. I don't know much about how it works just yet but I like the simplicity of it. ![]() ![]() Your suggestions and knowledge are appreciated! |

That Buffalo device looks like an awesome idea. My next upgrade (in2012) will put all my gear in a small closet under my stairs (similar to your situation in placement) and was wondering how I would control the devices in there. This could allow me to accomplish this with ease.

Where do you find these wonderful toys??!!
I don't know how well it'll work in your situation, but I'll be keeping an eye on your replies. I saw your thread in HT galleries, and I appreciate how you review items you buy for the rest of us. I did check this out @ smart home and noticed one could control the same gear in 2 different rooms using an IR outlet in each room. Very novel. |
