Default A question about home theater set up.

Ok, if this comes off terribly stupid, I'm sorry. I'm a complete noob with audio.

Let's say I am buying this little setup.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HTDDW795-850W-Theater-System/dp/B000PO3ECW

It's something affordable for me as I'm a college student, and my bedroom is very small.

I have a PS3 and cable box both running on component to the HDTV. No HDMI on my TV or on this setup. On my TV I have a row of inputs, a red, white, yellow and a red, white.

My question is just using those inputs should that system hook up? I assume all the speakers plug into the receiver but will those inputs be enough?

Thanks in advance.

You will use the digital audio outputs on your cable box and PS3. This HTiB has one coax and one optical, so you should be able to go optical out of your PS3 into it and coax out of your cable box. Leave your video connectors as they are...

Another quick question before I waste some more money.

Will any optical cable work from the receiver to the PS3 or does it have does the cable specifically have to say PS3 on it?

Thanks for the help. A quick response would be helpful.
