If you called customer service and got one that doesn't want to help, call again and usually the foreign speaking ones will always want to help you out. Me personally amazon has wonderful customer service and they usually do whatever they need to, to make you happy. I'd try calling again and they should be able to send you a replacement free of charge.

I have never had a problem with them. Retailers don't realize that if you order something from them online, they have to send it by trackable mail. Also it is their responsibility to make sure you get the shipment. So they better insure it otherwise if you don't get it they will have to eat the cost of the reshipment and/or the chargeback. Unless in their policies it states you order at you own risk (meaning that if you don't get it it is your problem) they have to provide the CC companies a tracking number that shows that the shipping company accepted the mail in case of a chargeback.

I've had this happen a couple of times and Amazon has always fixed it. The last time it happened they did give me some kind of story about their records showing that the item had already been delivered and told me to check with the post office. I don't know what records they were looking at because the tracking info clearly did not show the item as delivered. When I provided the tracking number to the post office, they told me that it showed a status of not having had the postage paid for yet. When I called customer service back and told them what the post office said, they overnighted me a replacement.

I don't get it... between my company and myself, I spend about $25,000 annually on Amazon for the last 3 years, and they have NEVER shipped me ANYTHING that didn't have a tracking # of some sort, even very cheap stuff like a $5 stapler. (I also seldom get anything from them via USPS... it's typically UPS/DHL.)
If you click on Where's My Stuff, and then click the little yellow tracking pillbox next to your order, it should tell you if it was delivered. If it wasn't, then they need to replace it. Plain and simple. I'm fairly certain Amazon treats all packages as FOB Destination, meaning they are responsible for the item until it reaches your doorstep. Hence why everything has a tracking #, and any package over $500 in value requires a signature (altho that is also a UPS policy, too, for insurance). |

That's weird. I'm in the UK and one time I ordered a region 1 DVD from Amazon US. It was faulty and they replaced it without even asking me to mail back the faulty one. They said since I'm in the UK it would cost me too much to send it back so they just replaced it. I also had a Nintendo DS Lite from Amazon UK with a dead pixel on the screen and they replaced that really quickly thought I hear some retailers don't bother replacing things with dead pixels at all.

My wife and I have found Amazon service to be beyond five stars. They have offered to replace things that were never their fault, and, we have found that they would be willing to take a loss on something - if that's what it takes to make a customer happy. Because of their extraordinary service - and reliability - we do a vast amount of our shopping and buying through them. Also, unless a product is coming from a 3rd party vendor, Amazon will generally pay for shipping on orders over $25, and, there is no sales tax. Those two things alone can add a LOT to an order. As with anyone you do business with, be patient and polite with Amazon and they will bend over backwards for you. G'day

Amazon has been really good w/me. I had some BD's shipped and it even said DELIVERED on the USPS tracking (who happen to have the worst package tracking ever IMO)... but I never received it for a week after it said it was Delivered.
I called Amazon and they promptly send me out replacements. Great CS if you ask me! |

Well, I recently had a small battle with Amazon customer service. I won't go into a lot of detail, but for my issue, I called a few times and each time the story kept changing a little bit on how they were going to handle things, which became frustrating. When all was said and done I got all of my money back (all be it in a round and about way), but it was frustrating none the less. I admit my situation was a little more obscure than the typcial purchase, but they clearly didn't have their s*** together as well as they should have
I still order from them, but I will avoid going through what I did last time at all costs. |
