I actually rented this game and beat it. Then I went to the store and bought it.

For $20 it's beyond insanity to even consider not getting it.

Rygar is another game that was kind of overlooked and shouldn't have been. You can get that one super cheap now as well. Highly recommended.

Rygar was ok, but cannot hold a candle to GOW IMO. Also, if you are a RPG fan, PS2 had the best run of RPG's in console history IMO. Theres so many epic adventures that its silly.

Agreed. Rygar is a nice comedown game though, especially for cheap. Certainly GOW 1 and 2 blow it out of the water, but it's pretty nice.

RPG's. Especially from Japan. This is where the PlayStation platform has had no equal whatsoever since day one and probably never will.

This is why it still irks me that the Nintendo DS is given exclusivity to a flagship title like a Dragon Warrior/Quest IX.

I'm not begrudging the DS, but I can't believe they wouldn't at least also bring this out for the PS2 and that huge userbase that's going to want to play it.

That's a mind bogglingly bad business decision IMO.

That game should be on both the PS2 and the DS, at least.

Square has gone on record saying DQ will not be "moving" to the DS, and that they have every intention of going to next gen systems for their big properties. With the 360 an outright failure in japan, you can guess that they will be on the PS3 for the next big dragon quest. Also, most people do not even consider the DQ title a real DQ just due to the fact that it is on a portable, so you will see considerable backlash to the title as time goes on and perhaps even a name change to turn it into a side story vs a full fledged DQ game.

yeah, the original God of War was one of the best games for PS2 IMO. To the guy who loved Ninja Gaiden, I did too. I'd definetely recommend GoW.

I certainly have read the same things you have and obviously PlayStation support almost goes without saying, for all the reasons you just cited.

With 2 FF games already annouced for PS3. I think we will see DQ on PS3.

I went out and got god of war for th ps2 to see what the fuss was about. While its certainly fun, I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say "best action game evar!" Depending on what else is going on I may pick up the 2nd one after I beat this one.
