Default Samsung Firmware 1.1 ?

I was just on samsung's website and believe that a new firmware update has been posted. i downloaded one last week and it had an '06 date as part of the name. today, the file has a feb'07 date as part of the name. does any one know what the "new?" firmware fixes?

It's the same firmware upgrade that came out in the fall. I tried to install it, but it showed that it was the same version and cancelled. I'm not sure why they show a different date on it though?

If you look at the date that's in the filename, its still the Oct 11th, 2006 date. I saw that too. They've changed the date that they list like three times now.

I installed every date update...previously they would update the main, it would say the loader was same, and then it would update the sub.

This time it update all, including the loader...but I can't tell what it did.

I do see the new firmware now... I wonder if it fixes any speed and or loading issues with the player. I'll load it when I get home.

I've updated mine and can now see more detail. I believe the NR chip is now turned completely off. All movies look sharper. So it's well worth the update.

Well unless my eyes are messing with me, this firmware did wonders for the upconversion on my Indiana Jones DVD movies. The last update i did was back in october, when the update was originally released. Just performed the update posted on the website now. It did update both the main and the sub. I seriously do see a difference in standard dvds. Havent' tried any BD discs yet, as I started watching Temple of doom and couldn't stop watching it. Like I said, picture's remarkably stunning now more than ever and I love my Sammy even more!!

Just checked out the Descent BD disc. The menu is still slow in response but the disc itself seems to load a bit quicker and popup menu features appear to be more stable. I occassionally had issues with the disc playing and it took forever to get it up and running. Now everything menu wise works well except for the fact its slow. Otherwise Go Sammy!!

I recently purchased the BD-P1000 and played a disc just briefly before loading the new firmware. I found a very slight improvement in detail with "The Departed", after update, certainly not a scientific test. I love this player for Blu-ray, I have better players for DVD, but overall, I am really happy and don't understand the negative reviews this player gets. Of course, I didn't have suffer with early firmware versions so my opinion may be different than those that did. I think it is a very good first generation effort and expect the BD-P1200 to be even better and the best value in an HD player when introduced next month.
