Use it like that for a week and see for any changes.I think this should be the reason for I.R.i.e your present settings should have been somewhere closer to dynamic mode,so once you reduce the settings it should solve your problem.
In my case i did get mild I.R during cold start.Once warmed up i did not seen any ir.And i did not break my tv using colour slides ! Now its almost 8 months old and my tv works daily for 6 to 8 hours at a stretch. And i do not get any I.R.

My custom settings are

contrast 64
brightness 6
sharpness 8
colour 33

picture mode : vivid

colour temp : normal

My tv is panasonic 50 inches,V20series(2D model).

love,
kris.
Wow IMHO those are not settings I would do or anyone in their right mind LOL.

Not picking but Vivid is just horrible.

Not a typo. Brightness is at 0. I don't no why It's at 0... but it is. Never bothered me, to be honest. I always thought it was a good picture. Bright when it needed to be and dark when it was dark.. but i'll fiddle around with settings if you have a suggestion

I moved the brightness up and honestly I don't see any difference. Which I find odd.

All the settings that i have given is under custom settings,In that there is a subdivision called picture quality : vivid on or off !
And to explain what iam saying i must take a video of my settings to clear your doubt.Since that tv is 2d v20 asian edition 50inches.And not the U.S model. And my menu and the selection tools are very different from yours. And there are no pixel orbitals etc...i.e No specific image retention cleaning tools given !

love,
kris.
