In The Land of Women Blu-ray?

I read on a forum somewhere that the Meg Ryan flick In The Land of Women was supposedly released in Italy. I can't seem to find any info on it, so if any one does it would be appreciated!

Is there any idea when In the Land of Women.... One of the greatest movies of 07 that nobody has probable seen or heard of (which is really sad) that stars Adam Brody and Meg Ryan will be on blu ray?

haha I actually enjoyed the movie. and Yes he was the only reason I watched the OC.. well him and to look at Rachel bilson.. they were the 2 best things about that show.

I saw this movie in the theatres and quite enjoyed it. My sister just picked it up on DVD as well.

I would pick this up for sure on Blu. I'm a big Adam Brody fan.

I hope one day we see the OC on Blu

I'm not sure that 2007 release is correct, it was first released on HD DVD and didn't get a BD release until after the end of the HD DVD. Anyway, this is not a movie I should like - it's mostly a chick flic, and I'm divorced twice and very happily single. I don't think that guy form the OC is a very good actor, and I've never been a fan of Meg Ryan. But I saw the HD DVD and really like the movie. It's a really sweet story, Olympia Dukakis is terrific in it, and it's the first thing I've seen with Adam Brody in it that I liked. I don't know if we'll get a BD release in the US, Warner has the rights and with a film from 2007 you would think they would have released it already if they thought the market was there.

Fortunately it's pretty inexpensive, by European standards - under 9 euro, around $14.30. I just ordered a copy from Amazon.es (Spain). Normally you would order it from Amazon.it but the new Amazon.es site has a flat rate of 14 euro per order to the US, so you want as many titles in the same order as possible to lower the shipping cost per item. So I included a copy with an order for 4 Spanish BDs. It's most likely region B locked since Warner has the US rights. Not a problem for me, but I'll confirm and update the listing when received.

The back cover says "available on HD DVD and Blu-ray", so I do believe that 2007 release date just could be right. And perhaps because they released simultaneously on HD DVD (which had no region coding) and BD they got away with having the BD region free, but it is definitely region free with no PAL trailers as I tested it on my Samsung BDP2500 region A player that displays only a blank screen when it encounters PAL video. That thread in which Pro-B says it is region B locked is from 2008, so maybe he had some bad information back then. I updated the database entry here to indicate it does play on region A players. Very nice video quality and English DTS Master Audio with no forced subs.

Nope. I remember very well this disc because I believe it was DigitalFreakNYC that asked about it, and I had the disc tested (we did not have Italian reviews then because there was no Amazon.Italia yet). In other words, I did not pass info from someone else. I no longer have this disc with me, though.

This said, I think that this year there has been at least one more disc that has turned up to be Region-Free now, though when it was released it was Region-B "locked". TJS_Blu brought it to my attention. The disc is Vengeance, courtesy of Optimum in the UK. I don't know if some companies are quietly dropping coding as they repress, but there you have it
