When I saw Beowulf in theaters I saw the 3D version and afterwards I feel that is the best way to watch the film. Does anyone know if they will be releasing a 3D version of Beowulf?

From what I understand, there is no plan for 3D HD-DVD titles (Beowulf is Paramount) to be released. 3D Blu-ray is in the works, but there is so little information out there, it could be years before they release anything. So maybe we'll see Meet the Robinsons on 3D Blu-ray soon since it's a Disney title.

Well then how the hell is this possible? I am desperately holding out for the unrated directors cut of beowulf but one that includes a 3D version seamlessly branched, come on you know how studios work these days, they will milk it out of us with blu rays like they did with 2 disc DVD's. 3D will happen. |

Damn, they can do a 3D Bluray for Hannah Montana but not Beowulf, what a world. That's just wrong. |

Returning to an old thread.
It's been about three years and Blu-ray 3D has made some inroads into the home theater industry. Does anyone know anything on a Blu-ray 3D release of Beowulf? I've got a Blu-ray 3D release of Polar Express and A Christmas Carol, so where is Beowulf? |

I've been telling people who didn't care for Beowulf that it was fantastic in 3D.
I'd dare say it's a different movie and at least the ratings should be separated. Since the day 3D-standard was officially proposed for HDMI, the only thing I've been wondering is "when can I see Beowulf in 3D again?" So here it is, a couple years later, and still no Beowulf. WTF. |

I am wandering why there is still no 3d version on the market.I completely missed this at cinemas surrounding all the 'Avatar' hype at the time.,and am now anxiously waiting on this release. An earlier posting was correct that the film in 2d is not the same,,can see the 'obvious' backward dimension.
Does any'one have info regards this???,,I can't be just one of a few surely?!! Wazza. p.s,what is annoying that theres never a cinema re-release of this title, even during holidays. Last edited by Wazza.J; 02-08-2012 at 12:36 PM. Reason: remembered something. |

I would love this movie in 3D I just noticed a few minutes ago that it was an IMAX 3D title and was shocked that I hadn't discovered that earlier.
I don't think it was shown in 3D in Sweden - I just bought the dc edition for bluray not knowing there could be a 3d bluray made in the future in fact I usually refuse to see a 3d movie in 2d if I know it's made in 3D so really sad to see that it was made in 3d but not released in it ![]() |
