Ditto, for me add Gunga Din to your list which was the first film I ever saw Grant appear in as a teenager on my old massive 19" B&W TV .....

To me, Cary Grant and Barbara Stanwyck had the best careers in old Hollywood, with the most classics-to-solid movies made in the time where even the great stars had to star in some crappy movies each year due to the studio system.

I'd love to see a complete Cary Grant Collection with ALL of his movies on BR in one huge box sex; not gonna happen, though, unfortunately.

I would love to see that, I have everything that was released on DVD, and will eventually pick up all the blu-rays. I just watched I Was a Male War Bride on the weekend. Speaking of Barbara Stanwyck, I'm really surprised Criterian hasn't released The Lady Eve yet.

I really would love to see Only Angels Have Wings, which I'm surprised to see hasn't garnered a mention. It would also up the Rita Hayworth blu contingent, another Golden Age star who's output is sorely lacking on the format.

You guys are right though, Cary Grant is the epitome of the classic star. Terrific blend of charm, comedic chops, and affability that yes, you just don't find too much anymore.

I just recently got back into Cary Grant films. To Catch a Thief & Charade are wonderful on blu-ray. I blind bought Charade and absolutely loved it. I'm extremely tempted to just go and buy North by Northwest, haven't seen it.

I know, I know...

Oh man - you MUST see that film. It's Hitchcock and Grant at their finest!

I'd love to see more Grant films on Blu. I'd like to add "Talk of the Town" and "The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer" to the heap of great films that have already been mentioned. Love those ones. I wouldn't be surprised if we get "Monkey Business" (it hasn't aged well for me) before too long as part of a Marilyn Monroe marketing push like we did on DVD.

Man I envy you. I'd love to see it again for the first time. Don't click the spoiler link if you haven't seen the film:
[Show spoiler] I can't watch that scene in the end when he shoots her without seeing that kid plugging his ears before the gun is fired. Its amazing I had seen the film so many times before and never noticed it. Its so obvious and funny.

I haven't seen North by Northwest either, but I will be blind buying it whenever the digibook release goes on a good sale again.

Agreed on Charade and To Catch a Thief. I blind bought and loved both of them.

Anyone who doesn't have North by Northwest and likes Cary Grant needs to buy it ASAP. There's no way you will be disappointed - the movie itself and the image quality on BD is superb. North by Northwest was the first blu-ray I ever bought back in 2009, and when I put it on I just couldn't believe how good it looked. It was a perfect introduction to blu-ray for me.

I'm also happy to see Cary Grant well represented on blu, and all his major releases have great image quality too. Just watched An Affair to Remember last night and it was excellent in all respects.

I'd like to see Houseboat on blu as it's one of those quirky feel-good films of his which deserves a decent release. Not sure what chance it has though.

I just gave in and ordered it from Amazon haha. Probably watch it next weekend. I might rewatch Charade this weekend. I loved both, but I really took a liking to Charade.

@Banned User (lol what a name) my expectations are getting bigger

What's the word from you guys on Notorious? Review on here seems positive, but many people on the forums and in user reviews have trashed the transfer.

Is it worth picking up? Never seen it, love Mr. Grant, and it's only $11.99. What do you guys think? Anyone want to give their two cents on Notorious?

The film itself is fantastic, my favorite Hitchcock...regardless of the transfer, it's worth it for the film alone. The blu-ray isn't perfect, but honestly...it's not that bad to me, certainly not as bad as some reviews make it out. It certainly looks better than it's ever been released before, so it shouldn't stop you from checking it out.

Yeah, the official site review is a 4 for PQ, but then there are people who are giving it a 2.5, so it's always tough to tell what to really make of it.

As far as Cary Grant films go, where do you think Notorious fits in?

I love North by Northwest and Charade, and will hopefully watch To Catch a Thief this weekend. Is Notorious better than all 3? How about other great Cary Grant films?

So North by Northwest, then, would be your favorite Hitch, not Notorious?

I had a feeling this would be the case, though I absolutely loved Charade. Grant and Hepburn play so well off each other. Very underrated, in my opinion.
