It wasn't bad, especially given the competition recently, I'd watch it over any reality show. If you're going to start making political statements (homosexuality, Blackriver, etc) right off the bat though your show better be darn good, and KR wasn't. Return to sender.

I said this to my best friend last night while watching, I don't believe the show will last past the first season simply because the production values are gonna be way too high. Look at how much CGI they used so far already and they still haven't even used three of the classic Knight Rider signature staples: KITT launching Mike up a sheer vertical wall with the ejector seat, Super-Pursuit Mode, and Turbo Boost. I mean c'mon! Where's the Turbo Boost! KR was all about the Turbo back in the day!!!

But anyway, yeah I for-see cancellation cuz just like Viper, it ended up costing way too much money per episode to make, over $1M per episode if memory serves. Fox already announced cancellation of The Sarah Conner Chronicles dues to production costs despite its ratings, and NBC killed off Bionic Woman which was far less flashy CGI and production-wise and had good-great ratings. Unless they start recycling stock footage so they don't have to keep pulling out the new "Semi" every episode and such, this is not going to last very long at all. I figure it'll be done before sweeps. Too bad too, it had potential.
Well I would guess since this is the KNIGHT INDUSTRIES THREE THOUSAND things would be different they got away from the campy TURBO BOOST stuff

My bad, I'm jumping the gun and declaring it cancelled already. I initially got the first bit of information from the column on the site below and from there bounced around to some other sites while killing time at work. The writing is pretty much on the wall for TSC sadly.

http://www.411mania.com/movies/colum...-Things-TV.htm

Anyway to my Viper comment. Yeah $1M an episode is not unheard of nowadays but remember that Viper began in 1994 and almost from episode 1 was costing that much to produce. ST:TNG began in 1987 and by the time it was consistantly hitting $1M per episode it was a bonafide hit and was well worth the investment for Paramount. Similarly with Frasier, the series began in 1994 and wasn't doing in excess of $1M per ep until well into its 11+ season lifespan. Viper, in contrast, actually ran for a total of 4 seasons of 78 episodes but over a period of nearly six years, partially due to a year-long hiatus of the show after season 1 to retool, recast, and reevaluate the series. Never a good sign for a new show trying to find its audience and footing. Who knows, maybe Fox will decide to put TSC on hiatus for a year and rework it so it doesn't cost as much to produce...but maybe given that option or cancellation outright...I think I'd pick cancellation, that way at least the actors etc. can move on to something else and not be left hanging in the wind.

Because Ford Put up the most money just like GM in transformers

It was just ok. They could of done better like a different car. But it was ok. Good to see Michael Knight in it. Also it's a good point someone said about too many commercials. Kinda the reason why I rarely watch broadcast TV anymore.

I liked the movie, but agree with most of the posts about the ads, scripting, and acting.

1)Why does there always have to be someone that is gay in a television show anymore.

2) Why didn't Charles Graiman just get inside KITT in the beginning and leave with him.

3) Why did they all stand around talking by the hotel rather than make a hasty retreat in KITT.

I'll watch the series should they chose to continue, but I don't know for how long.

I liked this new Knight Rider. Good Acting and great action overall.

I think most of you are being waaaaaaay too critical about a lot of things and are forgetting that it's just meant to be a fun action show. I swear some of you must sit there with pen and pad writing down "things they should have done". I can't explain why writers do the things they do but to beat a dead horse over those little things just detracts from the premise of the show (which is to relax and enjoy, have fun with it etc).

First of the complaint the use of a mustang is un-warranted. I admit at first I thought "mustang? what? why?". But after watching the show I thought hey why not, it works quite well. Besides even if the studio were to go with a "sleeker" car what car would be sleek enough and cheap enough for all those stunts?

Second, to those bashing KITT's abilities lighten up already, it's a TV show, not a documentary on current tech. How does KITT scan the casino and locate every bad guy? Who the **** cares. I swear some of you are those types of people that have to have an explanation of how every sci-fi device works WITH blueprint. Like those idiots who ask how transporter's in
star trek work or how to build your own light-saber.

If that was the case then all of the worlds technological progress would be coming from hollywood instead of real life inventors/scientists/engineers etc.

Third, I thought Val kilmer did a superb (if not stole the show for me) as the voice of KITT. He had that no emotion air to it and yet you still felt like he was your best friend.

If you haven't guessed by now I'm really hoping this becomes another great action series (like Terminator). I admit I went in with low expectations so maybe that is why I liked it so much but either way I hope this gets picked up and NBC gets rid ( or have they?) of Bionic women and put this in it's place.

I think it's fine and even better that way. Let's face it, most of middle America isn't terribly tolerant of homosexuals in general let alone as characters on tv and film, constantly showing that you can and will have strongly written (the jury's still out on this particular series though) characters in any setting that happen to be homosexual will be better for the long term societal goal of acceptance and tolerance.

Cuz then there wouldn't have been an episode...depending on who you ask you might be on to something there.

Uhh...impending writer's strike rush job?

I said the same thing for Painkiller Jane and Stargate: Atlantis. After a few episodes I just couldn't take them anymore and now one of them is cancelled and the other...well I just wish it was. C'mon, they're all over the place with the writing and are going over the top with guest appearances from the main SG-1 crew. Give it another 5-7 episodes and General O'Neill will be back again to save Atlantis from imploding cuz Woolsey did something stupid with a Replicator.

It would have been even better without all of the logos popping up about my dad better than your dad so many times over and over...don't people that work for these networks even watch themselves to see how iritating this is over and over? This kind of thing is ruining television as we used to know it.

gotta say i was looking forward to the movie, but after watching it i was very dissapointed. the acting was terrible. The car K.I.T.T was probably the best actor in the movie.

i dont think this show will make it an entire season before the plug is pulled. to bad cause the car kicked ass though.

I went in with very low expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. I would like to see this show given a chance.

Exactly, the lesbian cop was probably just some politically correct BS. I swear I saw the same girl with the neck mole doing a similar scene on House where she wakes up with a girl. I could be wrong. In any case, it keeps the college dudes tuned in.

I'm sure the car will grow on us. But heck, it transforms into OTHER cars and colors? Remember the show, Viper. I only had two modes as I recall. Frikken ford has to sponser this show and now it's a giant advertisement for their cars. That's almost enough to make me stop watching, we get ENOUGH commericials without corner ad banners, and blatent plugs during the show.

This is why I feel PBS is the best network on TV. You watch an hour show, you get 50 to 55 minutes of just the show with no commercials to break it up. Just some plugs at the end.

24 is/was a Ford commercial, ever damn car I seem to remember them sponsoring several commercial-free premiere eps

Just not quite as blatant

NBC is ludicrous tho, the banners and the bug ads are just revolting. Combined with their poor compression is really aggravating

After watching good blu-ray's, all HDTV is starting to look second rate to me. Remember how fantastic it first looked to our virgin eyes? Now it's just substandard crapola.

Yes, that bug ad constantly reminding me to watch the ***** Cat girls is more annoying than the Fox "pop over" ads during the show.

Well, lightsaber doesn't work cause it doesn't stop without a magnet at the top or something to redirect the energy flow. Transporters don't work either, which is why they have the "heisenberg compensator" to get around the uncertainty principle
