Default Is the format war over?

`
Hi all!

Now since the lion (MGM) roars in favor of Bluray I wonder if the format war is over?

What do you think?

Is there still a chance/risk that HD-DVD will take the market before Bluray?

My vote is in favor of Bluray but does the ordinary consumers care/know enough to make the right choice in case of two formats released?

This Chrismas would be the best ever if I could watch a good movie from a BD.

Guess I will have to wait one more year and try to be a nice kid? lol

There is no suprise about MGM supporting Blu Ray. The only suprise is that Sony doesn't own 100% of MGM which just become apparent to me after another thread. They were always in the Blu Ray camp once Sony bought into them, which was offically about a year ago.

The knock out blow was Warner and Paramount, although HP is now threatening to atempt to give HD-DVD CPR, but I think it's too late. CPR only works if you have just died, not once you are stone cold.

At least with HP's threat it will give the critics something to do for the next month or so. I'm guessing about May next year, Toshiba will announce they will not be releasng HD-DVD in the interest of the industry.

LOL, that's a classic!

I think Toshiba will finally admit defeat sometime this coming winter, if not by year's end.

Argh, why don't they give up... It will only damage their company in long term.

See my reply in your thread. IMO there's nothing to worry about... at all!
