Default Monster HDMI on Ebay

I know, I know, Monster cables are overpriced but there are sometimes some pretty good deals to be had on Ebay. I always hear that an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, the $10.00 ones are as good as the $100.00 ones. How does that play in regards to the whole 1.3 thing. I currently have my BD-30 hooked up via Monster HDMI to a Mitsu 65833 DLP. I will shortly be hooking up my cable box and DVD player via HDMI and all three will go through the receiver. Is ANY HDMI cable good enough for these three applications? If so, why care about the 1.3 scenario? Please help a confused person understand. Thanx.

if the cable is certified as HDMI 1.3 compliant, the cable will suit your needs.

currently, no media is using / requires the increased throughput that HDMI 1.3 supports. you'll be fine with any HDMI cable nowadays.

Does 'distance' matter for video with hdmi1.3 ? (Say if you had to run a 30 foot cable) ... would the monster vs. regular hdmi1.3 make any difference?

if the cable length is less than 15 metres (49 feet), any cable will be fine.
