All of those titles are least likely to be released on blu. No favoritism here

I was going to add Heartbeeps, but it airs frequently on the HD movie channels and the Andy Kaufman cult is still alive and well.

My Pet Monster... yes, they did make a movie on it back in the 80s. I remember renting it on VHS several times when I was just a little lad. Yes, it's a bad movie, a very bad one.

I don't believe it's even on DVD.

I've been aching to see that for ages. Any idea if it's available for download on the Web?

In a similar vein, Todd Haynes' brilliant short film "Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story" deserves a DVD release, although a hi-def one would be rather unnecessary. If you haven't seen this film, it's an excellent experimental short he did in the mid-1980s chronicling the rise and fall of Carpenter's career using increasingly emaciated Barbie dolls. Sounds mean, but it's actually shown in film schools and eating disorder clinics. Screenings elsewhere are forbidden due to the "unauthorized use of Carpenters music," though most people believe Richard Carpenter simply doesn't like the way he's portrayed in the film.

Here's a link to Superstar:

According to the sources I can find online (as reliable as they may be), Jerry Lewis has the only known copy of the film. He either A) Doesn't want the movie seen or B) some legal rights issues have to be worked out. I hope that some day, we will all be able to bask in the glory that is Jerry, as a clown leading Jewish children to their deaths in a Nazi death camp.

Even though the movie singlehandedly killed off Kaufman's A-list movie career, after studios decided to pass on "The Tony Clifton Story" because of it...

(Still, it's worth at least one viewing on the HD channels for the "Yes, that is John Williams!" score..
And if it airs on the HD channels, it's only matter of time.)
