Just announced that Rock On is the next bollywood blu-ray to to hit the shelves soon followed by ghajini,which is yet to be authored

The Authoring of Rock has been nearly finished and the master will be given to Adlabs for replication within the next 2 weeks .

we will soon upload snap shots of the menus of Rock on .

If I leave this thread for a year and come back the answer will still be the same. Nothing yet .. or maybe, its finally in production give it another 5 years! Dil Chahta Hai has been in HD production for 3 years now and still no sign of it, apparently maybe by the end of this year but I doubt it! Every now and then I look at this thread I realize that Bollywood is not committed towards home video primarily due to rampant piracy in India or maybe they are just busy spitting worthless movies from the Bollywood factory. Although I am not a fan at all of Bollywood movies and never will be but I occasionally drop in to see if any of my favorite pre-1970 movies are announced. The time when Indian films were called Indian films and not Bollywood films. I doubt that day will ever come. They are not even serious about the day and date release (not that I care about day and date) and catalog titles are dream. For people who wish to see Bollywood films on HD I believe they have to wait for the next Home Video format (whatever that'll be).

I hate to admit it but I have to agree with you.

Bollywood make movies like there is not tomorrow and yet they can't get there act together when it comes to releasing movies on the HD format.Piracy is rampant in India..I would think with the studios loosing money to piracy they would want to adopt the Blu-ray format ASAP

Please all, be patient. Eros has officially announced that they would release 25 to 50 blu-rays during next year or so. Let's see what happens. We should see at least few more blu-rays from Eros in this calendar year.

I remain hopeful to see something by the end of the year. Eros usually does surprise us in good and bad ways. For example, i don't even think there was an announcement for the Heyy Babyy blu-ray; they just released it randomly. I'm looking forward to seeing Acid Fatory and Blue, and if they're good, getting the blu-ray treatment.

I agree .. complete and utter joke! No offense to you though yaara. They announced this a couple of months back .. by now they should have introduced at least 2 Blus to show what they say is true and they are committed to bringing the best out of Bollywood. However, so far they are committed to bringing us N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

Don't worry! I've none problem with my blu-ray players is "Ä" region. I collection blu-ray movie and blu-ray music in North America. I'm very happy.

I need free region for BD a movie from foreign counties.

I don't care about Bollywood or India film has a problem or slowly economies in India.

I don't give #!&% it. I'll be patient.

I'm busy on my collection blu-ray.

Yeah, I noticed lock region is "B".

WTF!? only in Europe...

why need lock region "C'' for Blu-ray in India?

There East Indian people are not interesting Blu-ray.

The key reason for the reg code is to mange distribution rights. For example, Jodhaa Akbar is sold to Bodega Films (a French film distributor) only to distribute in France/Europe. Hence it is allowed only to include French subtitles with Reg code B.

So JA can be sold again to another US distributor/studio for the US market (reg A) with English subtitles.
