Yeah, Iron Man was great, but after all the hype for 2, it just couldn't help feeling like a let down. Ang Lee's Hulk? Too much psychobabble, a few nifty effects/action scenes, and some overly depressing performances. These are two that I liked well enough the first time, but over time their true nature was revealed.
Iron Man 2 is the biggest movie cash ever. I remember thinking when it came out that there was no reason to release this movie between the Avengers film other than to ride the coattails of the first film. Nothing contributed to the advancement of the Avengers story arc and IM2 is a sore eye in an otherwise flawless Marvel movie tie in series.

Ehh... I don't really agree with that. War Zone had the violence of the MAX series, but most of the time the tone reminded me more of his previous Marvel Knights Punisher series, like Welcome Back Frank, which was much more goofy black humor (okay, there was the Barracuda stuff in the MAX series, but otherwise...)

Speaking of the tone, why I didn't think the movie worked is because there was too much of an awkward clash in tone going on. On the one hand, everything seems to be goofy humor (Jigsaw and his annoying psycho-brother, the way Castle kills criminals, etc), EXCEPT for the story-arc where Punisher accidentally murders the undercover agent. You have this very dark, serious story about Castle having to deal with the guy's wife and kids, but in the face of the rest of the film is doesn't fit in.

Finally, I hated the visual look of the movie. Fans complained in the Tom Jane flick that the movie was set in Tampa Bay and didn't resemble the gritty, urban, New York look of the comics, but I think War Zone failed equally. All the neon-lighting used reminded me more of Joel Schumacher's acid-trip Gotham City than New York.

So, yeah, I'm not a fan of Punisher: War Zone.

I have to vote for the 1994 Fantastic Four that never made it to the theaters. I dare you to sit through this garbage.

When I saw the thread title my first reaction was 'oh, that's easy - X3' which was immediately followed by 'well, wait a minute, what about Daredevil? Oh, and Catwoman. And Batman and Freaking Robin'.

Then I read the thread and that 'wait a minute' list got awfully long awfully fast.

Damn, there have been a lot of really bad comic book movies.

Sooooo, I dunno...Daredevil, I guess.

You guys really gotta watch some more shitty comic book flicks. I suggest Howard the Duck.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I just found it to be a fun movie.

Good to see Elektra on this list. That's probably one of my least favorite Marvels comics-based movies.

The Spirit. Lovely to look at, but Wil Eisner probably would have hated it as much as I did. What a waste of a good character.

Honorable mention: The turd that was The Green Hornet.

I saw Catwoman for free in the theatre with a friend of mine. We thought it was going to be unintentionally hilarious, like Batman & Robin. We were wrong. I was horrified and ashamed from start to finish. Even The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which I also saw in cinemas and also sucked big time, had Sean Connery at the very least to keep it from being the worst of the worst.

Was supposed to be on TCM last night according to my tv guide but looks like they messed that up and i got Segal instead. haven't seen it either but heard it was something special.

Superman 4 was pretty bad. interesting idea but just poorly done. Batman and Robin was so bad, i haven't even finished watching it. batman whipping out a credit card with the name "Batman" on it did it for me.

Did someone mention a Bat Credit Card?

I don't know, I liked Daredevil. It had great fight scenes, had a very dark and gritty mood (which was a nice change from Spider-Man at the time) and one amazing soundtrack from Evanesence.

You didn't find it unintentionally hilarious? I find it very funny, myself...I sometimes watch a bit of it when it is on tv to amuse myself.
